Just and idea... a mod for modders "The Mod Flea Market"

I felt a need to write this down.

"The Mod Flea Market" (Title TBD lol)

So basically, this mod would take all *highly popular* equip-able or miscellaneous items made by modders, and make them all available ingame via an NPC flea market.

This would be located in an open area (which would allow for expansion), hopefully near a town. The mod would encourage that the mod authors customize their own NPC vendor visually (face/stall), I suppose by sending in a character face mod and stall specifications. I feel this would add a unique immersive and social element to our TES world. Wouldn't it be cool to buy swords from the actual JaySuS character?

Edit: Acutally to allow for infinite expansion this should take place in a unique underground area, so it can be modded/expanded at will (using CK)

A couple issues:

1. You'll need the co-operation of the mod authors.

2. You cannot combine every weapons/item into one mod, a reasonable mod author probably won't be down for that.

3. If you made an ESP requiring the files, then every DL must use every single mod you choose to include.

There's ways around it, but it'll be trickier than it's worth imo.

It's not a terrible idea but most mod authors with considerable amounts of content are going to be willing to put in the time to simply add a stall to the game if they want one, else they'll just add their weapons to the crafting/loot tables and be done with it. As Paladin says, it's more trouble than it's worth.

I'd certainly be game for making a .esm that included the data for a lot of popular equipables (with the creators' permission of course), so people can make mods which include them (hot esp on esp action is a bit difficult from what I hear) or put them in certain places.

Or you could just use console commands to give yourself the items.

Unless I'm derping due to tiredness, making the file an .esm wouldn't alleviate the problems revolving around dependencies. It would be this mod dependent on the independent .esp's, not the other way around, so an .esm wouldn't solve much. Could be some trick I don't know, though.

The more realistic option would be to take your own top 10 fav mods, create this flea market yourself with those 10 mods as dependencies, and hope people start using it. If it is cool enough and enough people start enjoying it, other modders might want to get added. But really, you'd need to either be dependent on all included mods or have modders that are willing to subsume their own work into your mod...
