bpestilence
I am not usually one to rant but this one really irked me. The No Stone Unturned quest. Find 24 unusual stones in various locations throughout the game, and in order to do so you need to buy the most expensive home (or steal it, or break in the back door using the fletcher's key), you need to join the Dark Brotherhood, Companions, College of Winterhold, and others. Of all the quests in the game, it takes the most time. I should have known that there would be no way to actually finish it. So just natually going through the game I found 17 of the stones. For additional help, I went to the wiki to find which ones I had missed. Spend a couple hours tracking down those... And guess what? I have 22 of 24 stones. Went to each location again. 22. Then I read that it is common for 2 of the stones (the one in Pinewatch, and another) to not appear. Without access to console commands, I just can't finish it. Now, this is obviously not the only broken quest I have. But, OMG, I have never been so angry at a video game. What is worse is that I read what the actually benefit is to finishing the quest. A pointless lesser power. More gems? I have a room full of gems. Right now I just wish that I had never picked up the first stone.
justwannaddl
Yeah. This was a really bad bug. Same thing happened to me. You had to go to so many places and so many quests, quest you may be naturally inclined to avoid, before you even begin to suspect something was wrong. Snowsong
Yah, that quest sucks. My game wouldn't even let me store the gems in a chest (they're heavy!) because they were quest items and I couldn't drop or store them. I'm doing a second character now, and I won't be attempting that unusual gem quest ever again.
chanchan05
The stones dont have weight because they're quest items. Quest items don't register as part of your weight limit. They'd just be annoying in the inventory. For the record I finished this quest, and the reward is, well not so sure if its good, since it sort of breaks economy. I pick up like 30-50 flawless gemstones now every dungeon. Its like every single chest has at least one gemstone now.
SavageArtistry
I read that if you try and grab all 24 before appraising them the quest will not finish. Also, this might help.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViBR8oHvXtM Edited January 19, 2012 by SavageArtistry
