Lachdonin
There are indeed. But, similar to being a Werewolf, the appearance of a Werecroc would be independant of the race in question. An Argonian would look the same as a Bosmer who would look the same as a Nord. The host race doesn't matter, rather its the particular strain of lycanthropy one carries. On that note, however, where the hell are my Werebears?
ModelV
Lycanthropism changes the very dna of the subject.Your race isnt important, nor would it affect what you look like when you transform.I love it when people use science to explain fantasy and state it as fact. Werewolves are fantasy beasts that are considered to be part man and part wolf -they don't exist on their own, they are a hybrid. So if a werewolf were part Argonian and part wolf then I see abolutely no reason that it couldn't have some reptilian qualities. Oh, and i personally woudnt want a argonian werewolf that looks more like a reptile. Now just imagine the werewolf model of Skyrim and put argonian like scales on it. Woud look ... ehm ... wired.I think it could look awesome if done right. Just imagine you have scales underneath your fur. Lycanthropy is a 'blessing' form Hercine. He alone gets to determine what the Werewolves look like, their normal phisiology be damned. Doesn't matter if its a Mer, an Argonian or a rabbit, their all going to look like Hercine wants. As such, i see no lore based justification for an Argonian Werewolf looking more reptillian. Thats not to say it wouldn't be a cool modding opportunity, and a quick flip through the Oblivion mods shows that the majority of modders don't care about lore-continuity (Lucas, you ahve corrupted the masses) but i think looking for a justification beyond "It'd be cool" is doomed to failure. If you like it, go for it. This^
janojordan
bumping this thread coz this has been bugging me ever since.. this is the reason why i can't finish my Companion quest line with my argonian character, it just feels so...wrong.. Of course it wont be lore-friendly but people dont have to use it, its not a game fix. I mean, sure its a fantasy game, but there has to be some level of suspension of disbelief. Lizards/reptiles turning into huge walking wolf? Come on, even kids won't take that seriously.. So please, please someone make this mod!! I beg you!!! gaptrixie
I love it when people use science to explain fantasy and state it as fact. So if a werewolf were part Argonian and part wolf then I see abolutely no reason that it couldn't have some reptilian qualities.I don't agree with using a fantasy setting as an excuse to turn the world upside down. I see that excuse thrown around in a lot of discussions for fantasy related things. That magic exists doesn't suddenly make science disappear. Just look at alchemy. Alchemy isn't a magic in this game; it's a science. It's worth noting that I don't disagree one way or another, but classic werewolves don't generally take on the more subtle features of their host race, so it makes little sense overall to have a more reptilian werewolf as an argonian or a more feline werewolf as a khajiit. It's entire possible that it could happen, it's just not very likely with what we know about the general lore of werewolves, which those in Skyrim appear to be roughly based. Edit: I definitely agree with Lachdonin's notion that it's Hercine's thing and he ultimately chooses the form.
