Walior
I am trying to edit an item in the CreationKit so that it occupies a different item slot than it does currently so that it doesn't collide with an item from another mod. It doesn't seem to be working though. I go into the creation kit, edit both the addon armor and the armor. Uncheck the current item slot and then select another. Then I click ok and save a new esp which I call "edit.esp". When I use NMM I check both the original item and the edit but it doesn't seem to work. Both items seem to still unusable together and when I put on one it automatically takes off the other. Will be really glad to get some help. Kroekr
You also need to change the item slot on the nif files (meshes) for the item in question using NifScope. It is also much easier and faster to change the esp info using TesVEdit instead of the CK. You could be done by the time the CK finishes coughing and loading your file. PeterMartyr
What he said. Here a Biped Object list of slots for you to consider from wiki so the slot you choose is at least it compatible with most mods. http://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Biped_Object Most Authors use these suggestions, but has you found out, not all authors do.
