nugar
Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this so if it needs to be moved can a moderator please do so. Now onto the question is there any way to re-number your save games so that Skyrim will actually recognize the change. Say you have a character and the save is up to say 150 for arguments sake is there any way to change the save number back to say 6 and have Skyrim load up the save as number 6 and not the 150 save number. Thanks in advance for any help or info regarding this.

bastilleday
yes there are two ways Alt tab out of Skyrim, empty save folder, Alt tab back to Skyrim, save your game. Now you have a game number 1. Here's another way. Alt tab out of Skyrim. Go to the save folder and move all the autosaves and any other saves you dont want out of there. Alt tab back to Skyrim. Save your game. You then have the next sequential save based on the highest number save you left in the folder. Let's say you emptied a save folder of the all autosaves and left ten save files numbered 1-10. If you Alt tab back to Skyrim, save your game, you now have a save game 11.
camaro_69_327
For me this is actually very easy....I use Wrye Bash. On the Saves tab in Wrye Bash, you can Right click any save (or all saves), point to "File", bottom choice = "Re-number Save(s)" the pop-up states...."enter new number to start numbering the selected saves from" Love my Wrye"

dbwolford
I downloaded Wrye Bash, but when I expand the File menu, the "Re-number Save(s)" option (among others) is greyed out. I'm running as administrator. Any idea why?
BG3
I downloaded Wrye Bash, but when I expand the File menu, the "Re-number Save(s)" option (among others) is greyed out. I'm running as administrator. Any idea why? Same issue for me with the latest version (307 beta 4, at the time of writing). But the trick described by bastilleday still works. Thanks!
