rsears2
figured it out...for anyone having problems with ctd's when equipping modded armor, make sure your NiAlphaProperty comes after your BsLightingShader. For armor that doesn't crash the game but doesn't show up (makes your torso invisible), try highlighting BsDismemberSkinInstance, find partitions at the bottom of the block details and expand it twice, make sure the last entry (body part) is set to SBP 32 body. That was the trouble for me.Thank you Cherry for a great tutorial.happy modding everyone Edited June 22, 2012 by rsears2

newmiller
I know it's newbie question and maybe offtop but... Is it possible to create in blender armor for CHSBHC that will not crash the game? Thanks for helpUpd: created armor without breast animation, it works... Suppose for breast animation i need 3ds max or special big tutorial for blender...so question is not so actual as it was. But I will be glad if somebody write how to make it in blender. socalkdl
Cherry, thanks for this tutorial. I have attempted to use the latest version of 3DS Max (2013) from Autodesk, but it is hopelessly fudged-up. Numerous error messages, missing DLL files and Nifskope seems to be incompatible with it. I have managed to use the BSA extractor from the latest FOMM and save the prisoner clothes files. I was also able to open your skeleton in 3DS Max 2013. I am now downloading 3DS Max 2011 from Autodesk to see if Nif Tools and plugins are going to work with it. The Nif plugins are supposed to install directly to C:Program Files/3ds Max 20xx, right? Unfortunately the 2013 version is a disaster for me. Keep your fingers crossed that the 2011 version works. Thanks,Socalkdl
socalkdl
Cherry,Ok, I have 2011 version of Max with the Nif plugins installed and it's working beautifully. I've loaded your skeleton and the prisoner outfit. I am at the editing the clothes stage and it is working just like your tutorial pics illustrate. :) I have a question before I go any further, is there a way to "mirror" selection modifications as the body is symmetrical and mirroring would speed the process considerably? There is a "mirror" capability in Max but it doesn't seem to work with "soft selection".Thanks,Socalkdl Never-mind about the "mirror" question. The clothing files are extremely asymmetrical, so mirror would only work if starting a custom clothing from scratch using Max's polygon tools. I have spent the weekend with this tutorial and Max and am really enjoying getting back into 3D creation. I am more used to Daz3D's Carrara Studio and the Hexagon modeler. Think I'll buy a used book on eBay for Max :) I am downloading "Mudbox" from Autodesk and will be gving it a whirl as well. It will be useful for painting 3D definition like cloth wrinkles, etc. Thanks again,Socalkdl Edited July 8, 2012 by socalkdl
