My mods are successfully installed but not working?

Hello everyone!

I need your help. I have the nexus mod manager but I have a problem. I have downloaded several different mods. (enhanced blood, skyUI, the D basement one, and several others) But for some reason only the first few I downloaded work. I have tried to uninstall the mod manager and clear out the folder all the mods were in but it doesn't seem to help.

When I start skyrim and click on the data files it doesn't even show half of the mods I have successfully downloaded in the nexus mod manager.

Please help.

Thanks!

The Data Files section of the launcher only shows .esp plugin files that have already been installed and simple things like mesh swaps and texture replacers don't need a plugin.

In the case of SkyUI, it requires SKSE (available on the developer's website, Google it). It's always a good idea to check the readme of any mods for installation instructions. Also, in the future, you should leave the Data Files section of the launcher alone, just use NMM to handle activating mods. Oblivion and FO had issues where just opening the Data Files section would rearrange the load order of your plugins which can have unexpected results ranging from broken mods to towns floating 3 feet in the air to CTD on startup...

MShoap already answered the bulk, so just to try to clarify a bit more.

Mods that only replaces meshes and textures and do not have esp/esm files, do not show up but still works if correctly installed.

once you have SKSE (or any other utility that is responsible to launching the Skyrim.exe after it) you can't use the official launcher anymore, for obvious reason the utility must be started first.

Besides, the data option in the official launcher may and possibly will mess whatever load order you defined at SMM

From now on you must start the game from skse_loader.exe (since you have mods that depend on it), copy it as a shortcut to your desktop, change the icon if you want and click it to play.

Seeing as you downloaded with the Mod Manager...there might be some errors in the installation because the NMM isn't exactly very intelligent. Go into your Data Folder, and check to see if all the folders and files are in the correct place. For example, SkyUI can actually be run without SKSE, you'll still have the one list panel. It's just the filter and etc that won't work.

Personally, I'd recommend skipping using the NMM and just manually install acording to the instructions given by the mod authors. That should make most, if not all of your mods run smoothly.
