How would one go about adding a new spawn point?

Recommended Posts

Hello folks

In the past couple of days , I was looking around the web and on the Nexus forums , trying to find some tutorials on the GECK

what I'm currently trying to do , Is simply add a new spawn point in the world , and add spawns to it

the thing is , I couldn't find any tutorial on the matter , nor any sort of thread or video

so if anyone can direct me to any such tutorial that exists (whether text , audio or video) , I would really appreciate it

and in general , If anyone knows of any good tutorial at all , I would love it if you could link it as well

I would really like to try and learn a bit of modding when I have some free time , but I really don't know where to start

thanks in advance

WA

well , what I was going to start with was making a variation of all Nuka World raiders , that aren't considered part of the actual gangs (so that killing them won't affect your standing with the gang)

I wanted to add these as patrols in the wasteland , mostly around the transit station

this way , people could find the equipment without being forced to go through the DLC , and actually allow you to farm some of the armors , without fear of ruining future quests

this is something I wanted to try as a basic prospect for a mod

then , maybe work towards adding more spawn points to the world , and make it feel more alive

but for a first try , just something rather simple

Also, to add a lvl'ed actor to the world - find a lvl'ed actor in the object window - filter for "lvl" - drag and drop them into the render window. They will look like a big M. I don't know what a cell map is.

Look here:

If you want to make sure legendaries show up where/when:

You can search for enc*legendary in the object window and use them.

Or, more difficultly, go about creating your own legendary chance quest. Which you would tie to an actor/s of your own choice/making on their template tab.

Edit: That is the very very brief explanation. =)

This. But Enc* templates should normally not placed by hand. It may cause issues. Playing around with NPCs is like playing with fire and summoning a demon portal at the same time. First you burn your hands and then you get punched in your face by the mighty demon Bugthesda. Look out for engine issues, that may arrise.

Good disclaimer, I should have pointed that out.

Thank you.

There might actually be already a lvlraider legendary that only has legendaries in the list, so should maybe look for that first.
