t89ww
The only one who is willing to give me a quest is Tolfdir (Alteration), all the other trainers tell me "You already know everything I know" (That may not be the exact translation, because my english sucks). Of course the skills are 90+, most skills had become 100 while trying to get those quests (thanks to fast travel + dragons). What has went wrong? How can I start those quests? (I'm on PC, so I guess I could use console commands, but I would prefer to avoid them.)
aguliondew
I have done the alteration, illusion, conjuration, and destruction ones before. They only say "You already know everything I know" if you attempt to train from them but the Npc that enable you to learn a master level spell have a special text to start the quest. Some of the NPC's 4th line of text is hiding until your scroll down to it. Just make sure you have the level to do the quest.

Edit: FUS RO DAH! It drives me crazy. No matter what I try, Tolfdir is the only one who offers me a quest for the master spell... with or without being arch-mage, train the last few points to 90 [91,92...100] instead of skilling, buying/using every single spell of a school (except the master spells of course), en- or disable mods, reinstallation, repatch... meh :wallbash: Edited January 22, 2012 by t89ww
t89ww
Sooo, no one have a clue? That would be sad, because that would be another 120 hours of playing wasted (after 200 hours playtime TESV decided that my assassine shouldn't be able to use daggers, that was... not funny) that would be a total of 320 hours of wasted time and would make me soooo sad :(
wetwork
Yeah I got the same problem. Conjuration of 93 and 100 in destruction and they won't trigger. Laaaaaaaame -Faralda finally triggered the Destruction one, don't know why she chose to this time.... Edited January 24, 2012 by wetwork

R3Q
Conjuration is the only school of magic that master quests' triggers at 90, everything else is 100. Wait at least a day in game time before approaching any of them after getting 100 in any school. They should have the talk option that looks something like this "Is there anymore to learn about (any school) magic?"

I started a few new test chars meanwhile, skilled all mage-skills up to 100 and the quests are offered to them. But still the one character with whom I would like to have those quests can't get them (all mage-skills are at 100 now) . It's still only the quest from Tolfdir that would start... that sucks sooo hard Edited January 26, 2012 by t89ww

It's still only the quest from Tolfdir that would start... that sucks sooo hard Try completing Tolfdir's quest first and then see if the others get unlocked . I'm pretty sure it bugged since you say you tried it with other characters and it worked. The game does sometimes glich with certain quests. Thats the first time i hear about it glitching with Master mage quests but for me , i played through the whole game 3 times with 3 different characters and everytime i've had trouble with at least 1 quest and it was a different quest everytime. If completing Tolfdir's quest doesn't fix the others, try using console to reduce your skills with the other schools of magic to about 80, go sleep so that the game will kind of reload and then bring your skill back to 100 or whatever it was and then see if that fixes the problem. If that didn't work then it's possible that there would be another Console command that would allow you to simply make the quests available but since i've never realy been the cheating type , i don't know those commands . You might be able to find it through the WIKI. hope this helps good luck Krawll
t89ww
Try completing Tolfdir's quest first and then see if the others get unlocked .Well, that's a thing I didn't even think of, because there are so many other parameters. Thank you! try using console to reduce your skills with the other schools of magic to about 80, go sleep so that the game will kind of reload and then bring your skill back to 100 or whatever it was and then see if that fixes the problem.Parameters like these: I tried them nearly all, with console commands, without those commands (older savegames, I have over 6000 of them - well I know now why ;) ), sleeping, waiting, visiting other cells, smashing my head on the keyboard, all in combinations and so on If that didn't work then it's possible that there would be another Console command that would allow you to simply make the quests available but since i've never realy been the cheating type , i don't know those commands . You might be able to find it through the WIKI.Yeah, but as mentioned I really want to avoid such "hard" commands, first I want to try all "softer" posi.. psiobly.. possob.. things hope this helps good luck Krawll Me too. Thank you so far :) Update: nope.jpg ... I guess I'll have to start the next "class" (warrior) ... to finally find out that, after 100-200 hours playtime, he isn't able to wear heavy armor and shild any longer. That would be so funny, I would laugh the whole time while burning all the bethesda stuff I own  :turned: :teehee:  Edited January 28, 2012 by t89ww
