RomulusAugustulus
Hi, can somebody give me some hints here?I'm using a player home mod from Ld50365 which has the nice feature that autosorting containers are linked to their workstations so I can sort stuff (e.g. ingridients) into a container automatically and when using the alchemy table, it recognizes everything inside the container. That works for soul gems -> enchanting, food -> cooking and baking, smithing and alchemy. Now I also use CACO which adds a lot of stuff and the auto-containers don't recognize this. How can I add the stuff from CACO to the formlists inside the .esp of the player home? Are there any how-tos about such things or wiki pages? Thanks a lot,Michael
PeterMartyr
Easiest way is to esmify both, and create a patch using the Creation Kit to Edit the ModA Formlist with extra content from ModB First Sort with Loot, then Redate your Plugin before esmify them, to get the correct creation kit load order. Create Patch Then build the patch you just created into your Bash Patch & Ghost it, if Wrye agrees. Espify ModA & ModB If you want to do it right, or just make the Patch a carry on, with out merging or using loot for rough enough is good enough. Ps if someone tells you to use TES5Edit, don't listen. We are creating new content using existing records, not editing a conflict. IsharaMeradin
Before digging into the plugins and making edits, you may wish to read up on the mod in question. Some authors will provide a way for you to 'register' mod added items in-game. I'm not familiar with Ld50365's mods so I cannot say if that is the case or not. However, it is worth checking out before delving into the plugins. I will agree, while disagreeing at the same time, with PeterMartyr. The Creation Kit is the better tool for this task, tho it is possible to do with xEdit. If you were just adding a single item to a single formlist, I can see using xEdit as the extra steps needed would still be less than the loading time of the CK. But once you start needing to do multiple items with multiple lists, the load time of the CK becomes unimportant in the light of the ease of drag-n-drop.
