Ultimate realism mods?

Hello everyone,

General lurker of the site here, and after 'years' I finally want to pick up FO4. I played it vanilla a few years back but was so entirely disappointed and bored by the emptiness and regular Bethesda formula that I gave up after just playing for a few days.

Now, a few years down the line, I'm hoping that the modding community cranked out some modifiers to make the game more challenging and believable/realistic, adding things like manual crafting, realistic bullet impacts and injuries etc. etc. like we saw in mod compilations for games like New Vegas and Oblivion

However, scrolling through this insanely large site (with most mods either being abandoned, broken or incompatible with each other) is a rather very tedious tasks, and all of the recommended mod lists are completely out of date or regard 'graphics' as 'realism', for some odd reason.

Is there someone out there that can recommend a hardcore mod package that hits all the right spots? Like Project Nevada, or Deadly Reflex back in the day?

I would be forever grateful, as I cannot make up my mind with the limited amount of information some of these modpackages provide.

Horizon is probably the best gameplay overhauls, have a look at that, it really enhances the survival mechanism in the game.

Horizon really is good, if you want to go all out, Get Frost, and then get a Feral ghoul outbreak mod. There is one Feral ghoul mod, that adds hordes of them to the city's, So pretty much you'd have to sneak every where. Or stay out of the Big citys and stay in the wasteland, or smaller ones. It makes sense Lore wise, considering the millions of people that lived in Boston. and Frost taking place just 2 years after the Fallout.

25 19 Insignificant Object Remover.esp---removes fps robbing debris you'd pry never notice was even missing!

Except for *Bullet time - slow time* which isn't lore friendly or realistic but lets face it VATS time almost stopping isn't realistic either, at least w/ bullet time it's Your aim...tho that mod kind of nullifies perception.
Conquest completely breaks Frost letting u make a camp thus a bed anywhere though it's only a dirty bed so no full night's rest but Ima be honest i need it now and will pry disable it and re start later on, also i need to test to see if making a camp site counts as a settlement thus destroying wanderer perk.

You probably want to check out my mod series, which is all about realism and so far offers, probably, the best realistic combat experience.

Is there someone out there that can recommend a hardcore mod package that hits all the right spots? Like Project Nevada, or Deadly Reflex back in the day?

I would be forever grateful, as I cannot make up my mind with the limited amount of information some of these modpackages provide.

There's a lot of small ala carte mods that augment Survival mode (I write some myself), but you're not likely to see really sophisticated realism mods on par with Nevada for FO4 until the F4SE team makes a lot more progress. FO4 and Papyrus gives us a lot of nice toys under the hood, but also leaves out some really important ones.

Right now the feature I'm seething over is InventoryWeight: the simple value that tells us how much weight the player is carrying. Bethesda pulled it from FO4 for some insane reason, which practically shuts down any realism mods that create dynamic effects based on exact inventory weights. It's literally the only thing right now that's preventing me from porting my Tuckered Out mod from FNV to FO4. So I'm very much looking forward to new versions of F4SE that hopefully include an InventoryWeight analogue.

But hey, Rome wasn't built in a day. We're still at the point in FO4 modding that the FO3 mod world was in early 2010. By 2020, modded FO4 will be a truly amazing game.
