essexfuzz
Through a series of manually installing and deleting mods, then deleting everything in the data folder (except .bsa files) I went from a game that had a lot of high res texture mods to what I hoped was the vanilla game. When I tried to start the game back up there was a $ symbol in front of all the script and when I tried to load a save file it said there were missing objects or something. So I installed NMM and used that to try to install all of the mods I had before but it's not working. If I activate the realistic water mod the game CTD before I get to the main menu. When I disable that plugin I get to the main menu, there is still a $ symbol in front of everything and I still get the message about my save file having objects that are missing or whatever. So when I try to load the save file I get a CTD. The CTD happens no matter what save file I try to open. One other thing I should not is that in the Skyrim launcher in data files there is currently only one option: realistic water. Previous I had 3 options but I don't remember what they all were. Edit:I fixed the problem by having steam validate the game cache. If anyone is having similar problems with Skyrim not loading, open up Steam, select library, right click on Skyrim, select properties, click the local files tab, and click verify integrity of game cache. EmziSt
Any chance You deleted the Skyrim.esm by accident?Because that should be listed in the launcher under data files aswell. Edit: sorry missed Your edit there. Edited January 24, 2012 by dandiersphinx
