I have the same problem with the Word Wall sound, might be the same issue. I wish I could help, I've got the same bug at level 49 with no previous saves I can load.

I'm getting the constant hissing noise that sounds kinda like a soul trap, or a flame. The temporary fix is to go into the console and do a sexchange, or turn into a werewolf. However the noise will come back when you load your game.

I *think* I found a way to get rid of it. I went to Riften and started spamming Use on the Shrine of Talos (maybe 15 hits). While the "Shrine" sound was still active, I hit Whirlwind Sprint. Next thing I knew the annoying sound was gone. Tested it by saving and loading.

I remember having this issue with another character, and it went away after a large scale battle. Maybe overload sound channels? /shrug

Hope that helps

Thank you, tonight I´ll travel to Riften and try :) In Oblivion .ini was something like Max Sounds= number of simultaneously played sounds.

EDIT: It didn´t work :( Tried Mara shrine too, spells in both hands, shouts... nothing. Maybe try another soundcard or wait for CK and edit save.. i´ll see. If all fails, I´ll write to Bethesda support, because game is in this state unplayable.

I am having the same issue, mine is a blizzard/storm noise that I have had ever since I faced a storm dragon. Sexchange doesn't work. I went into the temple of Talos in Windhelm, and at first it was gone, so I saved and reloaded, but it came back. I tried spamming the shrine, spells, shouts, etc., all to no avail.

I did manage to make it quieter by going back to the location of the battle and creating my own storm, then using clear skies, but it's still completely noticeable, this only made it slightly less annoying.

Please help! This is awful :(

I'm having a similar issue as OP. Except, mine isn't related to saves. If I restart the game, the sound is gone for a little while before coming back. I'm not exactly sure what's triggering it. It's some constant wind noise, maybe up in the mountains in a blizzard or something. But I can get it without going through any mountains or blizzards. If I go inside or in a town, the sound still plays. Restarting the game gets rid of it for a little bit, but then it comes right back. It's annoying as hell... If I could find the right sound, I would replace it with a silent sound or something...

Edit: After trying to watch and take notice what seems to trigger it, I think it actually is being triggered by white text on the top left of the screen. I didn't really hear anything, then an Autosaving... message popped up and up starts the sound.

2nd Edit: I'm trying to figure out which sound it is exactly. I've extracted various wind sounds from the bsa. I'm putting a silent file into their paths in the data folder. These files should play instead of the ones in the bsa, no? So far, I've had no luck making this work. I've put quite a few so far into the data folder as silent files and I still hear the damn constant wind!

I don't recall the mod name, but there was a modded Honeyside (in Riften) that added flags and a oh so cold feeling to the inside. It had a horrible wind noise that also affected the game in that manner. the only way I could get rid of the constant wind sound was to go to a previous save for that toon (prior to the house mod) and restart from that point. Removing the mod didn't help.

Its very nerve shattering, and makes your game experience not so jovial.

I think I know what sound it is, but I can't seem to fix it for the life of me. I remove the file from the Skyrim - Sounds.bsa file using the Archive.exe that comes with the creation kit, but once I try to save it, Archive.exe crashes.

For reference, the sound I keep hearing is: Data(Sounds.bsa)\sound\fx\ambr\wind\mountain\file

It's the only file in there not in a directory.
