nosisab
most of times the problem with save games not loading (when nothing else changed, like patches, mod update and such) is due to changes in the load order regarding to what it was when saving. Resolving that issue may be painful if the previous load order is unknown, hence following BOSS suggestion can help. Although BOSS itself could be the "cause" of the issue for the previous load order was wrong, it should still be followed... Then, try disabling some mods, start with those you deem most probably guilt, do it one at a time. Load the game disregarding eventual warning of missing content, if succeeds at some point, save it ASAP, quit and reinstall the removed mods, again one at a time and follow BOSS advice to that mod before reloading the game. Although unpleasant and boring, it is what grants the best results, better even than simply removing all the mods and installing everything again disregarding the load order at each step. Edit: Remember to make new saves at each the above steps to assure the cleanest state before each new mod is installed. There is an inherent problem with possibly losing items in the process, if that's the case you may want to avoid saving while that particular mod is off. In this case resort to the last save before it was uninstalled and try returning it together with the next in the reinstall queue. cableguy7778
I have the same issue. No current save (that has mods) and no old save (no mods) will load. When I start new, it enters a new game but crashes during the opening video sequence. I've reloaded the game to no avail. And yes, I too have have changed/updated/removed mods from the game and cannot remember what I had installed prior. This is a big bummer.
FinalFrog
I ran into this problem but found a solution and got my save working again. It kept freezing right after loading any save where I'd leveled up from 26 to 27. The solution was-OHMYGODHEARTATTACKÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Highlight this post. ;)Sorry couldn't resist. =DI determined that Scale Quest Rewards was responsible in my case. Removing the ScriptDragon script for that mod solved the problem instantly. I can even load saves which previously froze when I loaded them now. ^_^
Xaulzan84
What you have to do is download notepad++ http://notepad-plus-plus.org/ and then open the saved game file that you want to play in notepad++, do a keyword search for esp or esm files and it will bring you to the list of mods that you had at the time, reinstall all those mods and it should work.
