Mouse Movements

Recommended Posts

i dont play FPSs on my computer, and as such, my DPI and all those settings never really mattered. but recently when i crappy old mouse died, i bought a new G500 mouse. which is i guess a gaming mouse. so i figured id see if i could play a shooter. i tried the demo of ME2 on PC again to try it out. (originally when i was seeing if i wanted to buy ME2 on PC or Ps3, i bought it for Ps3 cause i didnt like the feel of a shooter on PC)

but i cannot get the feel of it. even after playing through a couple of times. my crosshairs move too fast or if i fix that, the mouse in the menus is extremely slow. i cant balance those. and then if i ADS with my gun, i cannot for the life of me aim for crap. unless i quickly turn down the DPI while im aiming down sights....now for a game like ME2, where i can turn it down/up real quick when im behind cover but in a game like BC2 or any real FPS where aiming down sights is usually on the spot, i couldnt do that.

anyways, anyone here have any tips or anything? what can i do to balance it....what does changing my DPI verse changing my pointer speed vs acceleration speed and all that do. and what are some of your settings?

Had a quick look at the G500 on the Logitech site and it seems a good bit of kit... it may be that the onboard memory for saving your settings

still has some of your first attempts at config' the mouse (out of the box) saved still...

My suggestion would be to try 'dumbing' the mouse down at first until you get used to it... make it work like a ordinary mouse and gradually increase settings

response times

Make sure you have the out of box mouse-drivers installed of the Logitech disc... not any default Windows drivers...!?

Make sure your 'mouse-mat' is clean and the optic has a good surface to work off of...
