aguliondew
"All rulers in all ages have tried to impose a false view of the world upon their followers." quote from the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. SOPA, PIPA, and now ACTA all remind me of Big Brother was the ruler of the main country from that novel. He abused his power dictate the lives of everyone in Oceania with mass surveillance. He use the propaganda "Big Brother is watching you" to keep everyone in line.

Skrypto
No, dynamic IP will most likely be made illegal to prevent annonimity of users to furthur their control. I also expect to see ISP companies demanding far more personal information, contract changes, basically they could implement changes that severely limit our use of the internet, and our sharing ability. Lessabos
There will be countermeasures from people for sure, look how Ubisoft DRM works
Chaosrex
Well this thing has only beeing signed in Japan, it also need to pass 4 EU boards or something like tjis to be effectif. So maybe until then, Anon, and all other people as well as us can prevent this thing to be true.
WOTmodsproductions
I agree that yes this will cause a lot of problems and basically mess up everything that we know and love about the internet But Why is this in the Skyrim forum? It should be in the off topic forum at least Edited January 26, 2012 by thelonewarrior
natelovesyou
I agree that yes this will cause a lot of problems and basically mess up everything that we know and love about the internet But Why is this in the Skyrim forum? It should be in the off topic forum at leastThis should be in every forum, it's that big and that important. I only check the Skyrim General Discussion, if it had been anywhere else then I wouldn't have seen this. So, unlike SOPA and PIPA, I cannot find much info on this nor very much rallying against ACTA - it's virtually unknown compared to the first two. I found a petition, signed it, not sure if it will matter or help...but I'm going to be honest, I'm nervous.
Tsig
It's like nobody that comes up with this stuff has ever seen V for Vendetta. People will only take being walked all over for so long before something sets them off and revolution happens. Right now, the internet keeps a lot of people from caring about what's actually happening in the world...take that away and suddenly you've got a LOT more people wanting to change things. If the government ever actually does start to censor the internet and it becomes widespread, there are going to be riots. Not just peaceful protests, there will be full-blown riots in DC. And as large as our military is, they can't keep every single person under control at all times. There are some people who have a LOT of free time to think up, and plan out, ways to bring down the government. All it takes is the right spark to set it off. Sarimae
Stop the kraken  but dynamic IP should protect my pc from control ? Not at all. Where do you get the IP from ? From you ISP. Will your ISP log the Data of your activity fore futre law-purposes ? You bet.... There will be countermeasures from people for sure, look how Ubisoft DRM works This has NOTHING to do with copyright DRM Measures...nor with "but then we don't love you anymore." once installed, you can't take it away anymore. AND : They don't care,if you like it. Not at all. Edited January 27, 2012 by Sarimae
