CBMPrimate666
Hi Fellow Modders Im relatively new to the modscene although I am enjoying it immensely. Iv done loads for skyrim and had no problems at all. I decided to revisit Fallout 3, although Im not sure if iv done something wrong. Iv installed the NMC Texture pack and followed all the instructions to the letter and then I installed the Apocalypse Armoury and lastly I installed Fellout. Im positive iv done everything right but the only mod i see in FOMM is Apocalypse Armoury. Should I see the other mods? If so anyone have any idea how I can sort this :) Thanks Martin
M48A5
If your mods were installed correctly, they would show up in FOMM. Did you use FOMM to install and activate the mods? Or did you just drag and drop the files into your Fallout Data file? What you can do is, open your Fallout Data file and check if the files are there. I know Fellout will have the radiation hazard icon to the left of the title. I don't know about the other two.

I managed to sort it out, Id been dragging and dropping into the root folder...Im using FOMM correctly now and all mods are loading correctly.... Although it won't work with any mods activated, even texture mods. It freezes at different points roughly every 5 minutes apart. I deactivated all the mods and deleted the files from the main directory and it still didn't work like it used to. Now Iv fully reinstalled the main game twice and I ensure it was a clean uninstall by deleting all remaining files & removing old registry entries, but it still wont work. Im now at the end of my tether as really want to play this game but Windows 7 won't let me....iv tried loads of things to get the compatibility to work but nothing seems to fix it properly. Anyone have any ideas? IJust so you know what iv tried doing, what Iv done is below. Ran in compatibility modes for XP & Vista.Always run in admin modeEnabled in task manager that Fallout only uses 2 cores and then tried with only 1 core.Added d3d9.dll file to the main directoryTried running with all low settingsand I think a couple of other things but can't think as my brain is fried :)
M48A5
Fallout really needs to be installed in a location other than the Program Files folder. A lot of people install it in the games files. I have mine installed directly onto the hard drive in a Bethesda Softworks folder. When I installed the game, when the window asked if you want a default install or custom install, I choose custom and typed C:\ in the box where you type the install path. This than created the folder "Bethesda Softworks" on my hard drive, with all the Fallout files in it. This will have the game installed outside of the User Account Control. Fallout in enhanced for a dual core CPU, so it does not have to be cut back to one core.I's running mine on a dual core AMD without serious problems. I reeheehearly want to play this mofo but can't as stops working every 5 minutes....Not always on the same thing either, one time it will freeze while attacking in VATS and next it will freeze when looting a body or just when im accessing my Pipboy...All random freezes ... Are you running it on Windows 7 too?

No, you don't "see" NMC's texture pack in FoMM because it's basically just a texture replacer. Albeit a very large texture replacer. Are you running it on Windows 7 too? I don't know about M48A5, but I certainly do. Not a single problem. Did you patch your game to the latest (1.7) version? And could you post your load order? Yes, I know you have only a couple of mods, but this might be just a simple load order problem. About the multicore stuff: How many cores does your processor have? If you have more then 2, you need to do the following: - Open the folder My documents / My Games / Fallout3 - Edit the file FALLOUT.ini. - Inside FALLOUT.ini look for a group called [general]. - Inside the general group, after all the configuration parameters, just copy and paste the following 2 lines: bUseThreadedAI=1iNumHWThreads=2 Now close and save the Fallout 3 configuration file. M48A5
@CBMPrimate666,I am running the game with Vista. I'm at a loss here as to what your problem is. I'm not familiar with Windows 7. Since you have re-installed outside the program files, does the game start and run without any mods activated? If this is the case, you should activate your mods one at a time until the crashes. This will let you know which mod is causing the problem. It will take a while to do this, but will be worth it in the long run.Just remember to toggle ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated each time you add a mod. Also, check the requirements of your mods. There might be some that require FOSE to work properly. And check that you have the most recent version of FOMM. Are you launching the game with FOMM? And you should be using B.O.S.S. to sort your load order.

The game starts with no problems with no mods attached but it crashes very frequently, It's the same if I run normally with the fallout3.exe or if I use FOSE(The most recent version of FOSE)
