Controller and keyboard together

Forgive my stupidity, I just loaded up Witcher 3 and got it working fine on my PC. I prefer using the Windows Xbox controller with my games. Several mods happily offer controller settings and suggest keyboard actions, but I can't operate both controller and keyboard.

 

In my Skyrim game I had a little mod that allowed me to use the keyboard (hot keys etc) along with the controller.

 

Is there a setting that allows me to use keyboard shortcuts along with a controller? Am I missing something for Witcher 3?

Apparently you're able to switch between either in this game. Just start using your KB + M to access those controls, and vice versa for the controller. Not sure if that's what you want though.

Thanks for your quick response! Yes - that would be perfect if it would work.

 

But...I can bash any key I want on my keyboard and nothing happens. Absolutely zippo. If I could hit a key and it swaps to keyboard then great! But it doesn't. Am I missing something?

 

I'm going to go off and try a full restart. I loaded up W3 earlier today but I've not restarted. Perhaps that's all it needs....

Ah - got it. The keyboard was still dead until I accidentally bounced out of the game when I hit F1 whilst mashing keys in desperation. :laugh: (The scientific approach - lol )

 

Once I'd tabbed out and back into the game I have full use of keyboard and controller.
