ericjmz
So…I thought some might have interest in how high one can take enchanting/smithing/alchemy in SSE, without ridiculous hacks, and not being able to take advantage of the non-extant old method of the infamous fortify restoration hack. Here is my method, and I think (explained below) I have taken it to the maximum…I certainly have ‘taken it to an 11’ in any case.I have used one single cheat (of sorts)…I use the Immersive Armor Mod…which is awesome in and of itself, regardless of what I’ve done with maxing-out. First, I will give you the results, followed by weapons smithed, and finally I will tell you the method and creative path to get there. Results:Fortify enchanting potions: 101Fortify Smithing potions: 405Weapons achievedOne-handed (ex: Dragonbone Dagger): 752 damageTwo-handed (ex: Dragonbone Warhammer): 1552 damageDragonbone Bow: 5151 damageCrossbow: 5251 damage The path to victoryFirst, take enchanting/alchemy/smithing to 100 , by legitimate means…anyone who has read this far either has done that or knows to do that. Also (info easily available on various Skyrim pages) wear 4 pieces of Ahzidal’s armor for enchanting, and using the Sallow Regent book to switch between the Shadows (alchemy) & Sorcery (enchanting) powers, when making potions vs enchanting items Now for Immersive armors: it gives you the ability for nine items to apply fortify alchemy, & six items to apply fortify smithing: the usual four for alchemy Skyrim gives you, plus bandana, fur collar, eyepatch, gold earring, & tribunal mask for alchemy; and for smithing the Skyrim 4 plus a cape and the tribunal mask Be sure, as this is necessary to wear all items, you have a soft hood, not a hard helmet, so you can then wear the bandana, tribunal mask, & soft hood simultaneously. Now here is where creativity kicks in:- You can take fortify smithing from the six gears above to eight simultaneous this way:- Obtain the Moth Priest Slippers; then deactivate the Unofficial Skyrim patch. The reason for this is the Moth Priest Slippers were miscoded as clothing, not footwear…but that error was corrected with the patch. By deactivating the patch you can then apply the fortify smithing enchantment. Then reactivate the patch (to your ‘normal’ state), and you can wear the slippers as footwear, but with the prior fortify smithing enchantment applied! J One last bit of creative sleuthing: Obtain the Notched Pickaxe at the top of the mountain at Throat of the World.By equipping the notched pickaxe, your smithing is increased from 100 to 105.…………………………………. …………………………………. ………………………………….So when the smoke clears, you have Nine items with fortify alchemy, & eight pieces of gear with fortify smithing. With that power, my items enchanted with fortify alchemy & fortify smithing both max out with a power of 57.…………………………………. …………………………………. ………………………………….In addition, here is why I think I cannot go any higher:- I cannot create fortify enchanting potions any higher than 101I cannot create fortify smithing potions any higher than 405 The only way I can think of that would be achievable would be to find a 10th item to accept fortify alchemy…not that I’m greedy! J …………………………………. …………………………………. ………………………………….Final thoughts: There will be those who say this spoils the game experience, that I am missing the entire point of the game, etc…They are wrong. The game is…no lie…tremendously fun this way.First, I am 59 years old; I do not have teenagers lightning quick reflexes; I play almost every game on the easiest or 1 up from the easiest difficulty skill. With this, I play Skyrim at the highest expert level. Also, for me, the fun comes from the sense-of-wonder, immersion, world exploration…that is left intact and untouched-you’re just a total Bad-Ass with this method! Finally, there are still some dragon priests, dragons, and some high level villains who even with weapons of my power, are not killed by a single shot....it takes two! Heh-Heh I would love anyone’s thoughts as to my discoveries here Eric Edited March 13, 2017 by ericjmz
Lisselli
This is known and it is what lead to the nerf to enchanting, smithing and alchemy in the first place. 32% is all you can get mostly, and yeah Enchanting post 100 gives diminishing returns as does smithing. In the case of smithing you start needing really high levels(5000+). Edited March 14, 2017 by Lisselli
ericjmz
Thank youKnown to some; unknown to manyI came to skyrim only about a year ago...like many I was intrigued by online commentary as to restoration loop & suchThe problem is none of that works anymore but the instructions will last forever in a google search...as will people replying it works fine for them Look at this very forum for someone inquiring a mere few weeks ago...and the wrong answers he received! What I wrote works today...with SSE One thing I neglected to say though I'm sure obvious to you... It's not a 1-step solution...you still need to go thru all the back-n-forth steps of creating potions, enchanting items, smithing stuff, and then back again...& again...& again to slowly build up I find that rweading; so do a lot of folks The only difference is what I wrote takes you ALoT higher ð
RealisedGentile
If I had known they "patched" this in a single player game I would have never bought it on steam. Let players play how they want. Edited August 31, 2022 by RealisedGentile
