KimCheeWarrior
i mean really, after lockpicking the millioneth time, some of us want to take it easy. ive noticed that the majority of lockpicking mods on nexus either make lockpicking harder or dont work. just a suggestion guys, if any of you even make oblivion mods anymore. Lazuri
Well, you could always use spells to open locks. Or use the skeleton key and just spam auto attempt. Or download a mod that allows you to bash locks open.Or install a mod that just unlock all chests and doors.Or install the mod that makes lockpicking like it was in Morrowind.I'm not familiar with how lockpicking in Skyrim works, but there's a lot of workarounds for Oblivion already. raatorotta
I never even pick my locks in Oblivion properly, I autopick them. Skyrim don't have that.
ponyboy10
I never even pick my locks in Oblivion properly, I autopick them. Skyrim don't have that.I used to do that until I burned through a ton of lockpicks on a quest and keep having to buy some from Vilja (haven't gotten around to getting lockpicks through other means yet). I had to look up the trick to lockpicking on youtube, but now I can usually get into any difficulty lock within a few tries.
respectfulrat
I never even pick my locks in Oblivion properly, I autopick them. Skyrim don't have that. I guess Skyrim doesn't have that ability anymore is because they want you to actually do the picking, rather than just relying on the auto-attempt all of the time. That damn skeleton key. KimCheeWarrior
i dont want a mindless solution, just a solution that still involves interactivity but doesnt require as much concentration. i want to be able to actually walk up to the door/chest, select it, and fiddle with it but with ease. thats what lockpick pro did. it at least made you open the lockpicking interface even if it did show you the sweet spot. although my favorite lockpicking mod for oblivion is the one that makes a beeping noise at the right moment to click the mouse. cheesy i know, but it works. David Brasher
Why don't you just use a console code or mod to raise up your security skill to around 75? That way you still have to play the minigame, unmodded, but it is easy to beat.
Lanceor
One of the first things I do with a new character is to get access to the spellmaking altar and create a Fortify Security 100pts for 1 sec as soon as possible. Under the effects of the spell, a Very Hard lock becomes five Very Easy locks. Since time doesn't pass while picking locks, 1 second is plenty. While you're there, make yourself a Fortify Armorer 100pts for 1 sec for unbreakable repair hammers. :)
