Texture holes

Gashest

Recommended Posts

Hello guys. So I've decided to play FO4 again. I've installed a couple of mods, most of them are gameplay based, but also Vivid Landscapes and stuff... So,my specs are
AMD FX 4170 Quad Core 4.2 GHz

GeForce GTX 650TI 2GB

8 GB RAM

And I keep seeing this texture holes, that if you run into them make the game freeze and load them up. It seems that changing object fade in display options helps it,but going in the menu everytime really sucks...any ideas how do i fix this?

Hard to say without seeing your mod list (and load order)

It's probable that you should be playing with all your graphic settings lowered from where you have them, textures not loading correctly could be due to lack of vram in your gpu or due to a problem with your mod installation.

Try altering all the graphic settings in the launcher (if you have them on ultra, take them down to high) and test that to see if your performance improves.

The ones in red are the most likely culprits, based on your mod list, if it is in-fact a problem with mods you use, and not a hardware issue.

Make sure that your gpu driver is up-to-date. You haven't mentioned using L.O.O.T. to optomize your load order (if your not familiar with it, it reduces conflicts by rearranging your load order) so if that's the case, I'd urge you to use it.

The only other things I can think of, reduce the monitor resolution that you play with, reduce the shadow quality and distance (these two are resource intensive, especially for a gpu that only has 2gb vram)

You should also look at using ENB vrsn 0.311 and then follow the tutorial by Tapioks below to help you with performance.

Insignificant Object Remover removes stuff that isn't visibe in the game, like crap that's sitting underneath the tarmac of roads or foundations of houses but which normally is rendered despite being invisible in the game. As such, IOR in fact heightens fps and lowers RAM use.

But that's probably the issue: RAM. A GPU with just 2GB and 8GB of system RAM will get you into trouble most of the time, even when playing at lower settings because for some reason FO4 doesn't care too much about what settings are used and merrilly eats RAM like it grows on trees. Even with all latest optimisations the game still has spikes of over 10GB of RAM, which is more than your system has in total...

You could try using ENBoost which lets you use system RAM as V-RAM, but with just 8GB you shouldn't set it too high...
