Moredhel
Yup, another character I thought of. I was thinking something along this line: Major skills:- One-Handed (either with or without Bound Sword)- Light Armor (thanks to Thalmor Light Armor Conversion we can wear Thalmor gear as light if we want to)- Conjuration (atleast for atronachs, maybe for Bound Sword)- Destruction Minor skills:- Block (really only if need be, I'll dualwield sword and spell, hence the class name)- Enchanting- Restoration Background:- Name: undecided- Race: Altmer <Name> is a refugee from the Summerset Isles, condemned to be executed by the Dominion Nazis (can I say that? I'll just do it) for being unwilling to support their regime. <Name> managed to escape the prison and left the Isles as a mercenary guard on one of the tradeships heading for Hammerfell (this was before the Dominion went to war with the rest of Tamriel). After living a few years on Skyrim's border, <name> overheard villagers talking about Thalmor elves looking for a certain altmer with a certain mark on his face. <Name> knew he had to run again and promptly ran into some blue-dyed fur-wearing nords. Knowing who they were and what they represented, <name> vowed to spend as little time with them as possible. The morning he walked away from the Stormcloaks <name> was captured and thrown in a cart with the lot he had nothing to do with. Upon entering Helgen as a captive, he found Thalmor elves talking with the general who orchestrated the ambush for the Stormcloaks. Burning fires seethed in <name>'s eyes and he said to himself "if I can escape once more I'll make every damn Thalmor pay for what they've done to me and these people!" <Name>'s adventure in Skyrim has just begun, and he has two primary objectives:- kill EVERY Thalmor he finds- Profit! He's used to living large and is quite unscrupulous, he'll take any job to make money even it that means theft or murder.
Dukkah
Looking good! I made a similar build once, but without the focus on Conjuration (put smithing in its pace) and block. It worked pretty well, but kiting was a must. You'll probably have an easier time of it with your build. Also like the story. It's a good justification for being in such an awkward situation (being an Altmer on trial with Stormcloak rebels). I look forward to hearing how your new character does, and what you decide to name him.
Moredhel
Removed Block for Smithing, to improve my Thalmor-outfit once in a while ;) I've already found myself an outfit by the way! When you've completed Bleak Falls Barrows head out in the direction the exit faces (to Pinewatch, if you know the place. There's also a necromancer altar nearer to the road) and you'll either see 1 mage and 2 soldiers or those guys + a captive. *Schwing!*
Chaosrex
Should add Alteration for the Mage armors, and once you are 100 in Alt, you can get the nice Atronach perk, wich is really helpfull against mage ennemy's.Also using a Flame/Frost/Shock Cloak spell, does a good deal to your damage output. If you dual wield you can use in one hand a Bound sword, with the Mystic weapons perk and the Perk that makes Bound weapons autocast Soul trap, you can then enchant your second sword with Health and Stamina/Mana absorb enchants, you would recharge Soulgems and Heal yourself at a good rate during combat, plus the Mage Armor will make you a bit more resilient and the Cloaks spells will add to the damage/defense capabilities. Its a bit of the Room-sweeper combo, also the Light armor can make it that you avoid dmgs for a small % when you get the last perk.
Moredhel
Thanks for your reply :) I won't use Alteration since the Thalmor outfit is now counted as light armor thanks to the mod I mentioned ;) The cloak spell is a nice idea. I'm "dual-wielding" my Bound Sword in right hand and (currently) Flames in left hand, and yes, I've already got Mystical Binding and Soultrap, and will fill that branch to Oblivion Binding (to banish summoned creatures and turn raised ones). If needed I can switch to Fast Healing, so I've got no worries about getting killed, it only comprimised the magicka left for casting more destruction spells, but I'll figure something out (and hey, there's a thing called potion :D )
Chaosrex
Well while Banning summoned creatures is nice, the feature to turn them against their Summoners is a bit bugged, in my case anyway, they simply vanish, i've never seen one turn against his owner and fighting for me. Also even if the Thalmor is now Light armor, why would'n you use the Oakflesh, and others Magicka armors? They can buff your AR pretty well, making you more durable. Moredhel
Turn is "make them flee" not "fight against their masters" ;)
invertedpanda
I've played that build before myself, and enjoyed it quite a bit. I didn't do the block, though. I used ward spells as my shield for every spellsword/paladin styhle character I played, and that worked out surprisingly well. Swapping out block for either Alteration or Smithing makes it a strong build. Or, you could do neither and focus more on Restoration, allowing you to really utilize some of the nicer perks. With enough reduction cost to restoration (especially with the dual enchanting perk), you can cast ward spells without a care in the world.
