vulgaris666
Hello and I really truly hope somebody reads this forum post. So anyway I'm having massive performance issues with Skyrim specifically after modding it on my new system. This new system is good enough to handle skyrim on autodetected high settings at a full 60 fps so at first there were no problems. Well the trouble starts after I download the Nexus Mod Manager. I downloaded that and installed two mods, the skyUI and the categorized favorites menu mod. Then I load up skyrim and again it works fine. Finally I load in skse into skyrim and run the skse loader from NMM and I start to get these problems. I've tried it a bunch more times and still I had that issue where I was getting about 5 to 9 fps when I entered the game. So I deleted all the mods, uninstalled NMM and even reinstalled Skyrim but still this problem is till happening. I have the latest drivers and like I said my computer is pretty stacked with a gtx 570m Geforce in it and an i7 CPU. This is a really persistant and annoying problem so if anyone could help me that would be greatly appreciated thank you so much and I hope your suggestions work. MShoap13
RAM? CPU speed? 32 bit or 64 bit OS? Are you sure you got rid of any texture replacers you may have been using when uninstalling? Did you get rid of Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini so the game would make fresh ones? If not, try moving them from \My Documents\My Games\Skyrim\ to a different folder (temporarily) and see if that helps. Do you have the newest nVidia Beta drivers? If you actually did do a full clean install and had problems you believe to be mod related, chances are it's something that got saved into your character. Try starting a new character if none of the above helps.
nosisab
First and foremost, backup and delete Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini from the /Documents/My Games/Skyrim and let the game rebuild fresh ones. Although you removed the mods, may still have overextended parameters on those files causing the issues. Afterward you can redo whatever tweak you had and know were not cause of problems for you. Still, after the beta patching the game is flowing very well with the defaults in my system which is far weaker than yours, so you should not have problem even with most demanding texture mods. Good Luck. PS: About SKSE, as with Script Dragon and at some extent (I'm really not sure here) all those Plugins DLL based, like FX injectors are in a complicated phase for the game is being patched at high rate what can introduce instability and issues. If you aren't participating in the Beta testing your game version must be 1.3.10 and them must download plugins for that version and avoid those meant for beta patches, on the other hand, if participating, most the above mentioned plugins aren't yet updated to the newer version (as for the time I write this) and them may cause issues too. Try keeping everything, game/skse/plugins all in matching versions. Edited February 1, 2012 by nosisab
