Hey everyone! I got my PC like a week ago. My cousin is really big into PCs and he said I could buy his old one. I guess it's not the best PC but here is the list of parts if you guys are interested, tell me what you think!

I'm really trying to get into it like upgrading and expanding my set up however I'm really new to the whole PC world.

I play a lot of games, pretty much anything that's good. I just got Skyrim and Enderal downloading so I'm probably going to be playing those for a while.

Other then that feels good to be part of community. Hopefully I can learn a lot here because right now I'm a straight nub.

this is better for looking at parts and can tell you if there are incompatibilities (not always though but it gets it right most of the time)

also i recommend a better power supply. i used that one for a PC once and it didnt do a very good job, here try this one: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/jscMnQ/rosewill-power-supply-photon650

only about $20 more and works great for me. also it will give you some flexibility.

if you just want a full build i can give you the one i used for the first PC i built (i upgraded some stuff since then) it's a $873.40 build and can play anything. the lowest frame rate i have ever got on it is 76 as well.

EVGA release good supplies and I've never heard of Rosewill. I'd be more concerned about the poor CPU and GPU honestly. If you're on a tight budget it might be worth looking at used components cpu's especially are nigh on bomb proof 10+ years is a normal lifespan.

What exactly does a better power supply improve?

Each part of your pc has uses power (lol, obviously). A stronger (higher watts and higher certification ei bronze, silver, gold etc) psu (power supply unit) ensures you can power all your hardware well, without dips, so they can run at peak performance. This is also beneficial as, say in 6 months prices on the 10 series of NVidea graphic cards or AMD cards plummet. You see a gtx 1080 overclocked now selling for $295 usd (I know, unrealistic but an example), or you want that performance for that price, but the only thing you can find is an AMD X Duo which has a huge power draw (I know, again, I doubt the drop will be near there), or, more realistically you have an rx480 and decide you want 1080 performance, but buying a $550 card is out of your budget (mine too) so you grab another rx 480 8 gig for $189-210 usd, and kabaam, you saved hundreds, and you do not have to upgrade your psu.

In addition, the higher the watts and rating, the longer it will last. A 700 watt gold psu that only has to put out 485 watts when gaming is going to last a. Very very long time (unless you have awful luck) and will most likely have a very long warranty. I say 700 watt, but 550-650 is usually sufficient in 1 graphic card setups.

Good luck, and have a blast. Playing with pc's is a blast.
