How to make followers use undergarments when armor is removed.

I wish all these talented follower mod designers out there would just give you the option to use undergarments when you install their mod.

 

But since they do not, I would like to know if there is a way to make followers use undergarments when their armor is removed. I know that there is are mods that change the default NPC undergarments to bikini style but I do not know how it is done. I would like to configure all my follower mods to use undergarments even if I have to do it one by one. I am glad that there are a few follower mods that do not use nudity but the great majority do.

 

I am not a prude. I just do not play Skyrim SE to ogle naked toons no matter how detailed they may be. It is distracting from the game.

Go into the file structure for the follower mod and replace the femalebody_1.dds file (data/textures/actor/character/female folder is where yours is located) with a SFW version. If the follower does not come with body files then they are using the same as most every other female in the game

Well, I have no idea where to find an SFW version and many of the followers do not have the femalebody_1.dds file in their folder. It looks like each modder has their own technique so this would not be very effective even if I could find an SFW version of the file.

What body mod do you use and what follower mod (s) do you use?

I'm just like you Wrapian, don't like the whole adult/erotic mods, but most of the body mods are required for the nicer armors.

 

You'll have to find out which body mod your follower mod is using, and then download that body mod manually/separately, and find the files mentioned above. Commonly these are CBBE and UNP. There are others, which may not have SFW versions of their bodies available if the authors indeed used them. In that case you'd have to go a step further, either drop the mod or consider replacing all the body files with CBBE or UNP never-nude varieties.

OR, you can download either the new or Oldrim version of Rustic Clothing. It has a separate underwear garment file that works fine in SSE. It includes underwear for both males and females.

I use the UNP body and that mod allows you to select "non-nude" for one of the versions (for instance, skinny) but not the other. Now there are additional option files to make both versions non-nude which helps a lot.

 

The problem then becomes that I cannot use "Standalone" followers. I had to check each of my followers to eliminate the standalone versions. It was sad since I really liked some of them. But the game is now PG rated. :)

Go into the \Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\textures\actors\character\[stand alone character name] and replace the texture files as stated above with your current body texture from the \Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\textures\actors\character\female directory as long as the body types are similar. If not manually download SFW version of the body mod to replace and copy the file from it.
