Vault 88 Mods Snapping Iussues

Hey all just started work on my vault and am currently using the mods

Settlement Objects Expansion Pack

Vault 88 - More Vault Rooms

Vault 88 Room Corners Plus

which are all great mods but for some reason the modular pieces from these mods will not snap to the

vanilla pieces from the DLC workshop. I cannot figure out what is causing this issue. I have tried contacting

the mod authors for assistance but have had no luck in getting a response yet. I thought maybe another mod may have been conflicting but have not found anything as of yet. I have place everywhere installed and thought maybe it had something to do with that but no. I don't know what to do and it is driving me crazy. It seems you spend more time downloading, sorting out mods, fixing problems then actually enjoying the game. I have over a 100 mods installed and everything seems to be running fine with no crashes. Just cant figure out what is causing the snapping problem. If anyone else has had this issue a solution would be greatly appreciated. I really enjoyed the Vault Tech DLC on PS4 and am looking forward to it on PC if i can just get these mods to cooperate. Thanks.

@JLeeEightTwoer

I hear you - many a modder has experienced the passions of a fiddly settlement build thing.

(I don't envy folks like GreekRage, Elianora, Vormina or ChuckSteel making the awesome complex mods they do)

indeed, it is awesome to make modded vaults and all.

any door any where and ddproductions or darthwayne or greekrage elevators and secret doors,

all kinds of cool stuff.

you can connect V88 to the Red Rocket Player Settlement - Red Rocket Quincy,

and on to University Point and the Under-Boston,

you could connect V88 to the Quincy overpass,

there's a lot of stuff you could do hehe.

there are some mods which will allow you to set the rotation for a piece,

console-command an exact value, and if you have a cheat sheet handy, it's a 2 minute thing.

and you can then align a snappable piece to that surface, and grab both of those to align.

then, toggle the visibility for the alignable piece... and voila!

that is a fairly quick method and work-around.

you combine that with place-anywhere etc, and you are only adding maybe 5 minutes one-time to the layout of the settlement.

we now also have a framework emerging which will let us integrate parts of a settlement via 'blueprints' -

sharable hex-references, so we can share our settlements and make mix-n-match

nCr, nPr, n^X worth of combos from other settlements, without as many conflicts!

it's awesome!

We can share our settlement layouts with other folks as a resource, and they can make all kinds of awesome stuff,

then we can re-integrate that back into our mods.

ethreon is right though; it'll take adjusting the orientation of the zeroing points and snapping in nifskope etc to make that easier and less time consuming.

it compounds when your settlement builds add 2 minutes here or there, and your weapons-parts packs etc aren't properly made either,

requiring overrides and re-orientations too hehe.

I hope that gives you a few workarounds in the meantime.

Good luck building your modded settlements, and I look forward to seeing screencaps of what you come up with
