ahhh, there's nothing like the delicious smell of new electronics being opened, it's like sniffing freshly made ram modules, or a vintage computer being opened for the first time and smelling that delicious commodore 64 goodness on your birthday and playing Wasteland for the first time, ahhh those were the days :has flashback from 1989 then starts hooking up old computer: Edited by allmightysausage

I remember getting my Alienware M17x R3 and just sat there for about 20 minutes sniffing the pieces before even turning it on

But when I first saw it at Frys i was like http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IXFvz1x2IRs/TMRQncFyFXI/AAAAAAAAAnk/5oaytGqR4wE/s1600/do+want+House.jpg

Then I saw an IBM laptop and was like

Ah yes... I remember buying a stick of RAM (256MB) several years ago when I had my first job so I would have, in total, 512MB of RAM. Which was considered high end at the time :D. I opened up the plastic packaging and sniffed the RAM until I had decided to turn my computer off and install it.

Just a couple years later, I was seeing laptops and such with as much as 2GB of RAM, so I decided to save some money to buy a laptop. I got a desktop with 2GB of RAM and a 2GHz processor for my birthday (but it just didn't have that new PC smell to it :(). So I didn't actually buy the laptop until a couple years ago, but when I did, it had 4GB of RAM and a near-3GHz processor. When I opened up that packaging, it's like the scent of a thousand strips of bacon entered my nose and started massaging my brain.
