roberts2432
Hey! I'm sorry if there's a really obvious answer to this, but I have been looking through the modmaker files for hours and I can't find what I'm looking for. I'm trying to find Solas' body skintint so I can swap it with a darker one like Dorian's. I've heard this is possible, but I haven't been able to find any tutorials on it and I can't find the file to swap. Help? Links to tutorials for skintint changes? I would be much obliged. sapphim
Here's the cliffs notes on skin tints: Skin tints are textures located in actors\baseheads\textures\skin. They're apparently a really weird format that the mod maker and most dds plugins don't quite know how to handle properly, so you can't simply export and re-import them. You need to swap the red and blue channels and re-save as DXT5 before importing. This is going from a lossless to a lossy format and can make tinted skin textures appear kinda blocky, but hey, it works. Some of the companions have unique skin tints and some don't. Solas is unfortunately one of the latter. I think he uses 03? Which skin tint is used can be determined by looking at the morph (found in designcontent\headmorphs). I've tried with a few versions of the tools to replace the referenced skin tint directly in the headmorph, rather than globally replacing the skin tint itself, but it's never worked for me. roberts2432
Thank you! I'm trying it out now. I don't have a whole lot of experience with photo editing software. I'm using Paint.net which is great, but you have to download a bunch of plugins. I still haven't quite been able to get it to work as I'm not sure what you mean by swapping the red and blue channels, but I'll do some research. Unless someone wants to fill me in or give me a link?
