GenericPrime
i don,t know if anyone has ever looked into this but i was working on a settlement on Abernathy farm. it was ment to be a spire like settlement built around and inside of the electrical pylon but it quickly came to my attention that the collision mesh for said pylon is ridiculously over sized above about 5 stories high and makes it impossible to build here. as some one who finds fallout 4's settlement system to be addictivly fun i was wondering if anyone would consider looking into this collision mesh issue as it is way outside the realm of my skill. Jolbo
Best I can do without going through the trouble of generating a custom collision mesh is to just remove it completely, which comes with the drawbacks of it perhaps feeling unrealistic since you can just walk through the tower, and it affects identical towers in the world. But it's a quick 5-minute job so it's np. There you go: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23223/? Edited April 2, 2017 by Jolbo
montky
@generic primeindeed, I get what you mean,on PS4 and XBox, I had made a larger settlement at Abernathy, only to discover I couldn't use the interior.that set me to looking at making Red Rocket Concord North Spa and Resort instead. which, in turn, is how I learned aboutAny Door Any Where, DDProductions GreekRage and DarthWayne's elevators etcand how to make interior cells.thus, I was able to take what I had learned from RedRocket, and come back to Abernathy and finally complete the vision of a large treehouse in the high-voltage transmission pylon! Method:you make your elevator go up into the interior cell you make inside the pylon,I recommend GreekRages rustic scrap-elevator, or DDProductions 5 story express elevator.the elevator takes you to a new lands or a cell for the interior.you get rad-free living up there hehe.then, you map the doors on the exterior perimeter of your 'new lands'to the doors you make along the balcony of the scrap-scraper.the illusion is maintained that the scrap-scraper is really built there, but we've just built around where we cannot build, and hidden it with a floor below the collision area. voila! now, you can live at abernathy in style!if only I'd known that, prior to making Red Rocket the spa and resort.oh well.
