CTD with 2560x1440 resolution

Hi, i'm having trouble with Skyrim and 2560x1440 resolution. Problem occurs with unmodded Skyrim. I use Mod Organizer and when i launch Skyrim from SKSE launcher in Mod Organizer if i try to load the world with coc Whiterun for example i get a CTD when the loading is finished, if i use Skyrim launcher from Mod Organizer everything works fine, if i use SKSE launcher from my Skyrim directory everything works fine, when i change the game resolution to 1920x1080 everything works fine when launched through Mod Organizer.

I used the same INI files when launching from Skyrim directory and Mod Organizer, did a fresh install on Mod Organizer and SKSE, tried using new Mod Organizer profile with the "default game settings" box checked but nothing. Has anyone else seen this problem and what am i missing?

Post your rig's stats. Something might leap out at one of us.

Also, what are you using as a monitor? Are you using a multi-monitor setup? (Even if you're not using it for Skyrim.)

You rig is just fine for good old "Oldrim" (as we now call 32-bit Skyrim.)

The only possible issue I can see with the MG279Q is that if you have "Free-Sync" enabled, it might limit your refresh rate to 90hZ. This might (might I say) be the cause of Skyrim CTDing on you.

I tried with Freesync off but there was no difference. My thought is that it's some setting i am missing because when i launch the game from Skyrim directory it works and no CTD, but if i launch with Mod Manager i get the CTD hence my confusion. Mod Manager has identical INI files though so i am not sure what i should be looking at. Thanks for your help.

Hello, i decided to look back into this issue and i actually figured out the fix. I needed to launch Mod Organizer as admin (I tried this earlier but didn't help) AND i needed to enable "launch as admin" in compatibility settings for skse loader. I have no idea why it needs to be run with elevated privilege for 2560x1440, but it doesn't require it for 1920x1080. Either way glad it got fixed and i hope this helps someone else maybe stumbling into it.
