iumans
Yesterday Steam installed Skyrim patch 1.4.21.0 on my PC. Today I tried to play but after the Bethesda logo, the main menu doesn't appear. Only the Skyrim logo shows up with no smoke, no music and no controls. I've tried to erase the .ini files and it didn't work. I've also tried uninstalling all my mods, and it didn't work either. :wallbash: I have absolutely no idea what to do. If anyone had the same problem and managed to solve it, I'll be forever thankful if he posts it here.

iumans
Yes I did, but the validation gets stuck at 100%! Then it downloads something for Skyrim (30 MB of stuff), and then we're back to the start.

That sounds like one or more of the data files needs to be completely erased, I bet a complete uninstall and reinstall of the game will work. Be sure to delete the skyrim folder after you uninstall the game then this way Steam or if you install from disc, will recreate the folder.
