Equipping Dragon Shouts/Spells via console?

P should bring up the spell menu add the spell you want to your favorites. Then hit Q to go the the favorites menu. Assign your spell/shout to a number key 1-8. I have not had a CTD issue when it comes to menus. Most of the CTD issues I have had were due to save files, or that blackreach save loop bug (fixed by turning save on travel off).

hi, a suggestion to get around your magic menu CTD issues, use console commands:

' player.equipshout <SHOU ID> ' or ' player.equipspell <SPEL ID> '.

Shout ID's here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dragon_Shouts

Spell ID's here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Spells

make things easier by making a batch file for each shout/spell using names like 'shout_dragonrend' or 'spell_fireball',

save all batches to your '\skyrim' folder (not '\skyrim\data'), i usually remove the '.txt' extension for my batches.

while in game console type 'bat shout_dragonrend' or 'bat spell_fireball' to equip your player as desired.

a batch to equip the dragonrend shout would simply look like this for example: player.equipshout 00044250

or the fireball spell: player.equipspell 0001c789

I tried this, but it says "invalid casting source", so I tried typing id of npcs and my, but nothing works.

I need to equip an npc with a spell.
