Request for some doodles - Also a white, lined paper texture (d, n, s) w/BGSM setup.

Hello,

I have few odd requests, but maybe a little fun for someone(s). =)

First:

I'm looking for someone to do (short-term) a nice, straightforward 2048 paper texture (whatever maps are needed to boot) for my The Small Addition mod. Along with a bgsm/material so I don't screw it up.

I can muddle through a good bit of this stuff, but modeling and textures are not something I'm seemingly able to do very well.

As an example of my failings, I haven't quite grasped the non-shiney, non-plastic'y looking normal map part, that's for sure. =/

Examples (though I'd rather stay away from the red lines on the left-hand side type):

https://www.google.com/search?q=white+lined+paper+texture&hl=en&site=webhp&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwjkoMrOyJjTAhVDxWMKHdlSCioQ_AUIBigB&biw=2560&bih=1269

-white/off-white.

-Blue lined (probably better than black or grey, considering the next part of this post).

-No binder holes.

-2048x2048 (though if one thinks 1024 would be fine, so be it...remembering texturing is not my forte, I just hope to have some very crisp, clear lines).

-No wrinkles.

ALSO:

I'm also looking to take some submissions for doodles.

-Stickperson type drawings of the sun, trees, people, cars, dogs, etc...stuff that a small child might make.

-Maybe 25-30 different ones (though if from several people, the better), not including some that I've done myself (they all start to look the same after for me, big reason I thought to do this post).

-Colors are okay, but simple stuff for sure.

-2048x2048 canvas size is great.

-White background is good, transparent would be better.

-Doesn't matter what image file format, really (or at least I can't think of any common ones I can't get opened and displayed in some way here)...though if you're familiar with DDS and put them in that format that's helpful and will save a little time (which is always appreciated, heh).

-Panoramas are fine, too, as long as they still stick with the 2048x2048 (just to save a little time, really). Say a picture that spreads across 3 walls, would be interesting for sure (though not all of them, singles would definitely be the main focus for ease of environment design).

-They don't have to be in the theme of the game, but a Stick-Deathclaw would not be turned down...no way, heh. =D

-Doodle does not have to take up whole canvas in any way, whatever one wants.

-Could even do a few on one canvas. Just no smaller than if this was a piece of paper you were drawing on in real-life.

-No dirty stuff, please.

-I am looking for at least one that's a more complicated house drawing, to be used as a doorway, however. So if anyone wanted to take that up, I'd be very interested.

-Also a few cute drawn doorways that will be decals or *actual* doors.

Credit would be given if used, of course.

Anywho, I know it's a bit of a silly post and request, but thought this would be a fun and cute little thing to involve others with (and the paper texture was proving to be more difficult for me than probably should be, so there's that), so here I am posting. =)

Here is an example:

Thank you very much for any interest. =)

P.S. Did I forget anything?

P.S. Oh yeah. So since I'm not shy about posting my ideas, I should note that they are for walls (mostly, but also some), ceilings, floors, etc. Will be used in conjunction with the paper texture (that I hope to have someone contribute) mentioned at the beginning on this post.

An environment for these little guys (once I get a good idea for a head, and make them more lead/mat looking):

Edit: I don't know what the heck is going on with the line-spacing here...mer!

I'm going to bump this with a few examples of the area and doodles. =)

@blahblahDeeblahblah

thanks for sharing this awesome preview!

will this be made as a community-resource as well at some point?

it's beautiful and hideous all at the same time... it's a nice homage to flatland hehe

that has to be a flashback/flashforward, if you OD on chems or get concussed hehe.

I wonder- could you take screen-caps of locals from FO4,

and use GIMP etc, to "cartoon-ify" those, like the titles from Sherlock Holmes/

1886 the order, to 'cartoon davinci/ross-vision" it?

let us know when you're looking for holographic ideas for the decals/walls etc.

your paper-world, but as a "hijacked teleporter teleport realm",

all sparkly etc.

Something like this?

Thank you.

I ended up doing my own (with blue'ish lines, in a couple different line heights) since this didn't seem to garner much interest (which is understandable, as it's a bit silly).

However, it might be nice to have 2 different styles, and that is definitely paper looking (I do like the little inconsistencies of that sheet, for sure).

Either one, though, I'm having trouble getting a nice grainy feel...that's the n, right?

(I know, textures and materials are not my strong point)

As yet, this'll be accessed via drawings on the wall of The Big House (the main mod), just another area.

I have been on a kind of 'release bits and pieces as standalone' kick lately, so that chem idea is kinda interesting. =)

The 'cartoon'ified screencap' idea is pure fantastic, though.

I did some similar type diorama walls for the house (screenshot the horizon and stuck in on a 6 cell length flat mesh), but I hadn't thought about it in this.

Ohh, that's good Montky, good job. =D

Holograms too!

...but maybe for a different area.

I know you've mentioned it before, but how far have you progressed? I'd guess just decals, but with less real texture and more shadereffects, right?

Very interesting, indeed.

Released as resources?

Probably not...there's not a huge call for most of my stuff and it's hard to keep track of it all already (some might even see me and think I bounce around to much already...like, I'm doing driveables now?! Where'd that come from, HAH! ).

Edit: Still soliciting doodles/simple stick drawings, if anyone pleases. =)

I've got about 7 done myself, but they all start to look the same after that. =P

you are too kind, b2-D-b2

this does look like it's shaping up to be a fun mod.

one good deed deserves another,

and it's the least I can do, after you put me on the path of

trying to understand that weird fade-out effect for some texture paths and all hehe.

you could combine this with the entry-conditional effect;

must be under the influence of : blend of chems etc and have wacky wasteland.

so, the "door to anywhere" entry door can only be openable when under effects,

leading to a timer in 'fun-land' etc.

wait. an idea approaches... "garyyyyy"

those wooden alphabet blocks didn't get there on their own.

It's a little "king star king" almost though hehe.

it would be similar to the 'Teleport redirect" 'transporter land"/"teleport-plane" mod project...

rad-beings, which are only damaged by rad-weaponry etc.

θ-an's etc the Hubbardonian's need assistance, but it's actually transcended Children of Atom haunting them...

-------

your experiments with 2D-3D flatland,

(literally, paper-mario-y style, nice)

are also on the path to holograms and what not.

there's decal-style animated 'holograms', that's your lenticular 'changes relative to viewing angle' as well as just a loop,

and nurbs-facegroup ones that are matched to a transparent solid.

I try to stay away from 'forced perspective' or 'cross-eye' holograms.

we've got a few different approaches at various stages of 'sorta working' -

sample testing is not returning good sounds for stability feedback at the moment...

.gif layer-switching is highly unstable,

but if your object has properly unwrapped facegroups and all,

drag-n-drop animations is almost workable

when we combine that with the audio nodal livestream embeddable project

"indie movie night" at starlight city and some interesting complexities become possible,

if we can get the audio and visual to sync up properly...

and not require the supercomputers of tomorrow to run it all hehe.

where it gets real awesome,

is when you combine it with doors, forcefields and the such.

you could have a torggler door or fun thing like that.

less resource intensive forcefield or rad-field.

metallic translucent/pearlescent doorways that melt and reform terminator style...

doors you can shoot through with your lazer - vaporizable doors etc.

doors that are solid under one condition, but transparent when viewed with particular pipboy lights.

such as the UV Blacklight pipboy light,

and "pipboy signal lights" mod.

"why build all those other door instances, when you can build this one, which is all of them" - Garth Marenghi's Fallout.
