Problem with normal map on custom weapon

I've a problem in showing the normal map on my custom weapon. The odd thing is that the alpha channel of the normal is shown correctly, but the normal seems absent, I tried also by making a white diffuse and black specular to see if the normal was too light, but still it doesn't work.

 

No idea if is some Nif settings I missed, I've imported the model by an obj file replacing the iron dagger to test, setted up all textures, updated tangent space and all. Tried even to put a s skyrim rock normal map but nothing, here a screenshot:

As you see it result pretty flat and as I sayd before I even tried with heavier normal maps from skyrim (mountainslab02_n) but it doesn't work.

 

The normal was saved as dds DXT5 with mip maps.

 

Any clues?
