Teleportation

For those of us who are obsessed with immersion, we dont like 'fast traveling' but that doesnt necessarily mean we dont like getting places fast!

Im sure this would be easy for anyone who knows how to script, or hell you could even just make a spell use the console for COC codes. I would do it myself, but i am not savvy on any piece of mod creation or game altering, other than some color swaps.

Of course there would be drawbacks. in addition to needing high levels to the school(probably alteration? it easily wouldve been mysticsm before) You would need a lot of Magicka, and if possible to script in, more as per the distance of the teleport you are making.

there should naturally be some limitations on teleportation in combat, either high leveled monsters presence completely blocks the teleport, or much like fast travel, simply no teleporting in combat. It should be a semi-lengthy and 2 handed spell.

Im thinking one spell for every major city, and possibly one that works like Farores wind(sp?) from Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and lets you set a target, and then you teleport.

I personally think fqast travel should be phased out in favor of magic based teleportation. as for non mage characters? wellHave other methods of travel like the carriage, or Faster horse(which need to be here anyway.)

Hm... the idea isn't bad. But in my opinion a spell that powerful should have some downside... a few seconds of stunning or some damage to health or reduced resistances or even health for a while. something that shows the caster is weakened after performing such a spell. Edited by Cyroch

Actually it was always possible in all TES games, inclusive allowing to force 3rd person vision and applying shaders to emulate the process. Was just necessary a certain care to prevent the transition happening while the animation was still playing for this could crash the game.

The most common usage was based on "markers" invisible or otherwise objects (which could be creatures) serving as location reference for the MoveTo function.

Let's see what the CK allow us, I have high hopes for it.

In an immersion sense, moving to markers is a little broken. where would the fun be if i could teleport right to the front door of the bad guys house, instead of trekking halfway across the country, guards on my ass the whole way? thats why i wanted this, to infact replace fast travel

I realize its possible, and probably easier to do than some people think, but about all im good at is ideas.

you could even impliment it in the form of an item in your inventory you have to collect, and you use it, and it will teleport you to the one place the item is linked to. making each item only useful to that one teleport location.
