Hi-Res Patch: Should I remove older HQ mods?

I mean I've got almost everything:

High-quality food

Improved dragon textures

Enhanced Blood

Enhanced Night

Bellyaches animal pack

Accingite Vos HQ Shields

Lush Grass

Lush Trees

Millenia Weapon Retexture Project

Flora Overhaul

Any of these I need to kill before starting next game? Either because of conflict or of redundancy? I've still got 1 hour 50 minutes of Steam patchloading, so any tips on mod "housecleaning" preparations that you guys have already discovered is beneficent, well it would be very appreciated.

Oh, and is it safe to use B.O.S.S after adding the Hi-Res Patch?

Thankful for input!

I've just asked the same sort of thing in Tech Support- logically we should remove existing modded textures to see what Beth has come up with and then overwrite those if any are deemed worth improving. I personally have a lot of extra HRs installed but use Wrye Smash so it'll be easier to remove and or restore later o_O

I guess?

Cool, thanks for the input!

Rededge: I checked out "Wrye Bash", do you think it can be installed and used retroactively? And alongside Nexus Mod Manager?

Since I started this topic, my download time has gone up from 1 hour 12 minutes to 3 hours 10, this is getting absurd, probably won't play at all tonight. You'd think Steam would be used to this thing after all the DLC stuff they've done with Team Fortress and such. Ah well, free stuff, no whiney.

You're gonna have to try pretty hard to notice a difference when you open up the high res pack.

Hmm? Why do you say that? Don't you think it'll be better than existing texture mods?

@Arnkell - Wrye Smash is/ will be the mod utility of choice I think, (but I still use NMM for certain mods written with that utility in mind, ie; those that offer different options during the mod install process) but each to their own.

For installing texture mods with Wrye you can see easily what overwrites what, and therefore which texture will ultimately appear in game. Also, importantly, you can simply drag and drop mods in the install order and click "anneal all" and the utility will sort it all out for you. You can install BOSS and a little icon appears at the bottom of Wrye Smash so you can click to sort your load order; as quests and more complex mods surface your load order will become more important- solved easily with BOSS which will do it for you.

Last but by no means least it has a "Bashed Patch" which means simply that it will allow a number of mods to play nicely with each other.

I'm poking around inside the .bsa files that contain the new textures and they definitely do not include textures for all objects in the game, so some people might not notice a big difference. It looks like some of the (imo) worst offenders are not improved by this DLC.
