Setting up Blender or 3ds max for NIfs

Recommended Posts

So I have been googling and searching and I cant really find a good way to set up either 3ds max or Blender to allow importing of NIFs. I can import nifs into 3dsmax 15 and 17 but I get import error "premature end of stream", and Blender I have had even less luck. All the guides I have found are back from 2012 it seems and I cant really find anything that can help me.

So does anyone here know of a good guide for setting up either one of these programs for Nif import/export?

Imo you should go with 3dsmax as it's plugins are far better supported (up till max 2017), and there's far less post export work u need to do in order for your meshes to work properly. Personally been working in 3dsmax 2015 for the past 2-3 years, super smooth across the board. Grab figment's fork off nexus. Comes with an installer.

Yea, while I haven't published any mods I have done some light modeling work in 3ds and I like it more than Blender.

Edit. Thank you that worked I actually installed it earlier but it turns out that the problem was the plugin it but the mod I was trying to alter.
