explodingsheep
No more AM3+ socket for me! Super fast DDR4 (3333) and a i5-7600k. No more terrible frames! Rejoice! I'm so excited you guys, Fallout4 will finally run smooth!
niphilim222
The new Ryzen supports ddr4, so i am concedering upgrading soon, with ddr4, that means a new Motherboard. Edited April 18, 2017 by niphilim222
explodingsheep
I was considering AM4, but 240$ for the 7600k was a good enough price for me even though I had to get a new board and make the DDR4 upgrade. 2 x 8gb HyperX Savage RAM was more than my MOBO, lol. Is that normal?
niphilim222
Heck they been getting some impressive fps out the new Ryzen core cpu's, very impressive.
explodingsheep
Yea that's what I've seen, I really like where AMD is going. I'll ride this processor out for a few years then probably switch to AM4 unless Intel can top it for a reasonable price.
niphilim222
Over 60% better then the 8350
TheMastersSon
At least some of this discrepancy is probably due to driver immaturity, but so far Ryzen 7 scores are lower than i7 in almost all games. See this link and especially the Fallout 4 scores on the next page: https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/Ryzen_7_1800X/10.html Unless I'm reading it wrong Ryzen is fully ~50% slower in Fallout 4 than a similarly-clocked i7. niphilim222
Yes but huge jump forward from the 8350, don't look at it through the eyes of Intel but compare it with the 8350, and you would get a giant leap forward.
