AeneasV1
I've always frowned on some of the nature of ads I've seen on the site (women in skimpy outfits leading to porn pay sites, etc.). The best thing about them, however, is that as soon as you went to another page or refreshed it that specific ad would then be gone. Not today however. I was woken up when I heard, "HEY I'M MR T AND I'M HERE TO SHOW YOU MY NIGHT ELF MOHAWK." Ugh, okay. Ads with sound now. At least it wasn't porn. So I thought quickly going to another link would fix it. Nope. "HEY I'M MR T AND I'M HERE TO SHOW YOU MY NIGHT ELF MOHAWK." Chirst, maybe it was just a coincidence. So I click on a mod, still in sleep mode because doing so only opens up a new tab in firefox, and there I was at the page for the mod. And yes, can you believe it-- "HEY I'M MR T AND I'M HERE TO SHOW YOU MY NIGHT ELF MOHAWK." But even better I had two windows open, so it was, "HEY I'M MR T AND I'M HERE TO SHOW YOU MY NIGHT ELF MOHAWK.""HEY I'M MR T AND I'M HERE TO SHOW YOU MY NIGHT ELF MOHAWK." Just a suggestion. When you bring in sound ads? Yeah. Only bring them in when they have a mute button. Oh, and also make sure that they can be rid of when refreshing, not having the same ad on every page for an ad about WoW. Let me know when that happens, because, until then, I'm doing my mod shopping at planet elderscrolls.
Dark0ne
Thanks for the info; this campaign was targetted to North America only (UK here) by the agency so I had not seen it. Email sent to ad agency involved: Hi Jon, Just writing to mention the new WoW Pre-Roll NA-Only 300x250 creative ad. I am happy with ads that have sound but there's a couple of issues. (1) The sound starts without the consent of the viewer. This means that on high reload sites such as mine, where people visit multiple pages or open multiple tabs for quick viewing they get spammed by multiple audio streams which isn't good for the user, the site, or the ad agency in my opinion(2) There is no way of stopping the video or sound so the user is forced to listen to it I will be disabling the creative until I hear back from you! Thanks. Robin
