random minimize to desktop

First guess would be that a program (possibly your A/V) is cranking up and forcing Skyrim to minimize. I've never heard of Skyrim doing it by itself.

Here's a way to possibly spot the culprit. Before starting up Skyrim, open up Task Manager and click on the CPU column so that whatever is using the most cycles is at the top. Next time Skyrim minimizes to desktop your Task Manager should still be there -and if you look quick enough you might see what program just cranked up. Check to see what it is. If it's not something belonging to your OS (and make very, VERY sure it isn't before proceeding) then un-install it and see if that stops the problem. However, make ABSOLUTELY certain that the program is not something Windows needs, or you might totally bork your OS forcing you to do a complete re-install. If in doubt, leave it alone.

Now if the program is something that you want (or need, like your A/V) then check that program's settings very, very carefully. For example, if it turns out to be your A/V causing the issue, you might simply need to go in there and tell it to make an exception for Skyrim.

If I think of something else, I'll check back in here.

EDIT: Okay, I found this thread. Scroll through it. There's multiple possible fixes. Some worked for some of the people who had the same issue you have. Maybe one of them will work for you. Uhm, I wouldn't try the ones referring to a nurse though...

2ND EDIT: One more thought. Are you running Skyrim in windowed or borderless mode? Which ever one you're currently on, try the other.
