NMM isnt activating my mods

I installed several mods via NMM but they never activated. I tried activating them via the in game mod options but that crashed the game. What should I do?

"In game mod options"? That sounds like you accidentally subscribed to some Steam Workshop mods instead of NMM. If that's what happened, you're probably getting conflicts. If you are subscribed to Steam mods, first step is to un-subscribe from them. As for NMM. I recommend downloading the mods manually to any convenient folder on your drive. Call that folder "Skyrim Mods". Play it really safe and give each mod a separate folder to avoid confusion. Use NMM to first add the mod you've downloaded (the green plus sign icon) then install/activate it (the green checkmark icon.)
