Suyeta
I have Skyrim. But I hate steam. Any thoughts on if/when we'll have access to the creation kit without having to go through Steam?
jet4571
Download it through steam and create a shortcut for it on the desktop, never open steam up again. whats the problem with that? Unless you :pirate: then no help here.
minngarm
like all steam programs the CK is setup to launch steam directly when opened.
Rennn
I have Skyrim. But I hate steam. Any thoughts on if/when we'll have access to the creation kit without having to go through Steam? You have to go through Steam anyway. Unless you're planning on making your disk of Skyrim a 'special' copy, in which case...Dangerous waters, my friends. jet4571
It may launch steam but that does not mean you need to use steam to use the CK. all steam will do is sit in the background unnoticed unless you choose to open it. Claiming you hate steam is a retarded excuse with today's computers. 10 years ago maybe it was a valid complaint when system resources were in shorter supply but not now. create a desktop shortcut for steam apps and you dont need to worry about having steam in the background. *editOh look at that i just created a desktop shortcut for the CK closed steam so its running in the background perfectly hidden. double clicked the new shortcut and steam remained hidden like it wasn't even there. Fatalmasterpiece
Hey guys, related to this, I don't have internet at home. I play Skyrim on a tower pc which isn't connected to the internet. Just to activate the game I had to tear down my pc and take it over to my buddies house. Anyhow, can I download the CK onto my laptop, which doesn't have Skyrim installed, using my Steam account which does have Skyrim registered and then later drag the files for the CK over onto my tower at home. Thanks.
trees415
33% off skyrim on steamyeah I noticed that, though I can't say that i didn't expect it. If anyone doesn't own this game, now would be the best time to pick it up. They also have a TES III-V package deal for $50. pretty awesome deal imo. Not going to happen, and best not start discussing how you can circumvent that either.

Thanks. That's possible if you install Skyrim onto the laptop as well as the CK. but I doubt steam on the desktop will recognize it as valid unless you go online with it so steam updates itself to know the CK is valid. but you can always try. You might need to repeat the process of taking it over to your buddies house and get the updates and CK.
