zumin
So I downloaded the official Hi-Res texture pack from steam, and when i started up my game, the entire world turned purple like I'm missing not just some but most of my textures. I have already tried verifying the game cache from steam, it does nothing. Even when i disable the texture pack everything remains purple. Most people as far as i can tell can fix the problem by restarting the game, but no such luck for me. Any suggestions on how to fix this bug? the game is completely unplayable. Descivii
Usually means that you need more virtual memory at least 4Gb if I remember right. Revert back to non Hi-Res and problem will probably go away.....or get more memory J Edited February 9, 2012 by Descivii
elvinkun
Purple means missing ... So unless you have incredibly old computer which is not able to load textures at all (but if all is purple, that means all is missing - to clarify, the esps comming with the pack tell the game to ignore the original textures and load only the new pack, so almost everything purple means the game is told to load the pack, but the pack simply isn't there), I suggest you try either putting the new texture packs into ini, so the game detects them even without esps, or reinstalling Skyrim alltogether, then redownloading and reinstalling the texture pack. This way, you will know for sure if it's not just corrupted file or some older texture (mod) somehow messing with the new ones. zumin
So I think it was caused not by the new texture pack, but when i uninstalled the Skyrim hd 2k textures mod. Either way i reinstalled the mod and the textures are now fixed. It definitely wasn't caused by a lack of memory, my pc has 12gb of ram, so I'm pretty sure when I deleted the texture mod it just deleted all the textures instead of replacing them with the old ones. Thanks for the help anyway
