Nope,where did you get that from ?

In a past interview Todd said that they experimented with horse combat,spears,and other kinds of mounts but they finally decided not to include them because they wouldn't fit the gamestyle they wanted to be on the 'spotlight'.

 

I'm guessing you didn't watch the whole he says it

OH god I really hope they're not thinking of making these exclusive DLC content when it SHOULD'VE BEEN IN THE VANILLA RELEASE :down: ! if the first DLC ends up being some of these and not actual content im mailing Bethesda a stink bomb! it'll take them years to get the rotten egg smell out :verymad:

How can they work on a game for years, release it, and then do this in a week?! :psyduck: How is it possible?! MY GODS, they are trolling us!!!

I'm assuming that most (some? all?) of these are not fully realized, integrated, debugged and playtested game mods but are instead quick proof of concept snippets. That said, it drives me nuts that I can't shoot an arrow or swing a blade (or even talk to someone!) from horseback ....

This. Come on people, he said it was one week for an individual person to take some time and SPEC out something. Many times it's a single camera shot of a CONCEPT to show it's feasability in the game engine. It's not like they took this entire feature list, programmed everything, set it up, QC'd it, balanced it, QC'd it again, then decided to put it into the overall world. Having a single scene of a player fighting with a spear doesn't mean that spears were developed by one person in one week.

 

It's a spec reel for god's sake. Nice ideas... thinking out of the box once the game's released... but that's all it is. Proof of concept.

Just because the creators set this up in a week doesn't mean they are fully implemented and game ready. YES, they can be implemented and debugged and made to work, but every game has to go through a process of what to put in and what to leave out for a logical release. I swear people get so worked up about things, feeling as if they were purposely left out just to piss people off or to make money later. The childish ignorance on display is sad.

This is bulls***. They're showing us what they COULD have done, but didn't.

 

And those are some seriously cool things they made.

I honestly hope they finish them up and roll them out.

 

I mean, that giant Mudcrab? Amazing. Building your own house? Terrific. Adoption? (Makes sense, what with the way marriage seems to be like..) Really cool.

 

Goddamnit Bethesda, 10/10, would rage again.
