Everyone just needs to relax.... deep breath....hold....and....relax! ( repeat until the anger, frustration, annoyance or any negative emotion is gone)

Regarding to being lied to by Bethesda, their a corporation who like to make a profit, combine that with in today's age that nobody has any honor (in general) you shouldn't take anything people say at face value.

Posts about this stuff being released as DLC... well i rather pay for this stuff then that overpriced horse armor.

Posts regarding the fact we might or might not be able to replicate some of this things... we have the tools and we have the willpower we can create anything we set our minds too.

Posts regarding the immaturity of other poster and "crybabies" etc. This is the internet, and your going to have things like that til the day their is no more internet.

Regarding the video all of those things are awesome, and i hope to see them available for use either by Bethesda or the great modders here on the Nexus.

I wish Beth would extend release dates more. 11.11.11 was a good marketing date, but they could of done so much more if they waited for early 2012.

Honestly these things would really massively improve the game. Simply by making vampires and werewolves useful it is good. Not to mention it makes marriage something besides "hey, I cooked for you."

This should all be released as a free mod imo since these things probably should of been in in the first place. It would be fine as a DLC.

Now that I mention it, people are going to hate me for this but... What is Beth did something like this every few weeks? They could sell a DLC every month until their next game comes out.

Any one ever told you two that: "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit"?

Your points are still very valid though...

I always heard Sarcasm is the lowest form of social discourse, but it's also the FUNIEST :D

But seriously, The guys at Bethesda had access to the source code, so we have no way of knowing what kind of tweaks they had to do to the creation engine is order for some/all of those things to work. And I seriously doubt that any major changes to the game engine were permitted in the last few months of development, as there would be no way to do anything like an appropriate amount of testing prior to release.

Yes I know how ironic that sounds given the number of bugs at release, but major changes to the core game elements would have delayed the release of Skyrim whether Bethesda wanted to or not.

If they are willing to provide ongoing updates to content with free and paid, I would be all for it. Spear dlc=free or Spear dlc + limited edition spear figurine=paid and Dragon mount=free or dragon mount+ dragon den=paid would be awesome.

It's worth pointing out that while what the developers did in a week of "fun time" was impressive, actually integrating this stuff into the game with proper development and testing would take months (or even years). We are looking at quick hacks, not production code.

There is a good chance half of this stuff is staged. That is, it doesn't work AT ALL outside of a demo environment, or it does work but the performance is unacceptable even on high-end hardware. Or it breaks other integral mechanics of the game. There are a thousand reasons a staged demonstration won't work in the real world.

Software development isn't a case of "ooh, look what the shiny thing I came up with, lets throw it in!". This is known as "feature creep" and it kills projects dead. Or even worse, you manage to release a incoherent mess of a product go out of business (e.g. DNF). You need disciplined project management to actually release a product. That includes developing a plan and sticking to it. Does some creativity get lost along the way? Absolutely. But at least you end up with a decent finished product.

I for one am happy they actually released Skyrim instead of being slaves to feature creep. On the other hand, seeing some of the stuff in that video did make me feel a little sick with jealousy for the product we-could-of-had. Hopefully it gets released as official mods (it might be the only thing that would convince me to use steam workshop at this point, but that's another discussion).

But yeah, some perspective people. If I see one more fan-child accusing another fan-child of "entitlement" around here I swear going to throw up.

Feature creep isn't really a valid point when you look at how pointless marriage is right now and how useless being a vampire or werewolf is.

Some of these features really should of been added really as bug fixes honestly. Marriage is so pointless you need something to fix it. Same thing with vampires and werewolves.

Its not feature creep when you add in a feature and never expand on it or make it useful.

"We can do anything, we just can't do everything."

Honestly, How is a giant mud crab going to fit into lore?

Those all may be great Ideas and additions to the game, but i feel that they would make more sense as mods, being optional downloads.

How many times do I have to say this when people go on about 'lore'?!

DRAGONS!!!

Seriously, lore's pretty much out of the picture when you've got flying dragons plucking people from the ground.

Not to mention the whole 'Daedric' thing, and other stupid magical creatures.

Giant mudcrabs would fit in perfectly. ;)

This post is ridiculous. Dragons are extremely lore friendly. And Dragons+Daedra/Aedra are the entire CORE of Elder Scrolls lore.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

Frankly, I'm glad you posted this so I didn't have to haha.

I don't know. Before fixing your pet peeves, I would like to see the more mundane aspects of life in Skyrim fleshed out. I want a starvation mechanic that weakens and eventually kills you. I want to get my character drunk and watch him stumble around. Then when he passes out, I want to actually SEE HIM GET INTO BED. But does that really mean food, alcohol or sleep are unfinished?

Marriage, vampirism, werewolves, they serve their purpose. That is, they add the illusion of depth and give RP'ers something to hook into. Would it be nice if there was more to it? Sure! But as far as the project goes none of this stuff is incomplete.

Whether you guys like it...

Whether is is "fair" or not...

This game was built to work on consoles as well as the computer. Apparently some things that weren't included were because it wouldn't work on consoles properly.

That is the world we live in and believe it or not, Bethesda is not only in this business to make games for gamers but also to make a living and support their families.

The stuff in the gamejam was created AFTER the game's release -over the space of a week and even then it had not been tested or balanced to work in the game proper. It may come in later as DLC but after the way you whiny brats are acting I wouldn't lift a finger to give you jack.

So quit whining like a bunch of 4 year old crybabies and get the hell over it. GAWD I'm embarassed to even be associated with some of you pathetic children.

True story.
