Skyrim CTD when saving after Fast Travel

Hi there Nexus Community,

 

I'm having a very weird problem occuring since in finished the "Season Unending"- Main Quest.

 

After completing the quest, I fast traveled up to Paarthurnax, hit quick-save and BAM -> CTD.

 

I tried several other cells. I could enter them, but as soon as I tried to quicksave or create a new save via game menu -> CTD.

 

So I reloaded an older Save, completed the Quest again, having the "Paarthurnax Ultimatum" Mod disabled. It worked for quite a few fast travels while testing, but as soon as I entered windhelm cell and tried to save -> CTD.

 

After that, everytime I try to save in another Cell but that I'm actually in, i crash. I tried to fast travel from Whiterun (last "possible save" location) to various fast travel points. I even travelled to spots where Saving was possible before entering Windhelm cell, an eventhough, the game crashed.

 

I'm running out of Ideas...

 

There are only some clues I found out:

- The Save BEFORE the Peace Negotiations in High Hrothgar seems to work.

- Disabling and Enabling some Mods i suspected to maybe cause the problem, didn't.

 

Please help me guys. I already played 30+ hours on this playthrough, I don't want to have to close it already :ermm:

First and foremost - You NEVER remove a mod during a playthrough, even disabling the mod can cause horrendous results. This is the #1 most basic rule of modding

 

Other than that I need to see your load order, but I can tell you right now that if you have removed / disabled / deleted any mods during your play through of this character, you might as well start a new game.

I know this fact. I usually don't do anything like that while playing an actual playtrough. But i had to test if this mod may cause the problem.

 

I can tell you, the problem occured with and without the mod.

Another theory I had ist that the Problem may have something to do with the "Familiar Faces" mod i use to store my chars from older playthroughs. I don't know if this may cause a problem, but I'm sure it possibly could due to it's "connection" between different playtroughs.

Umm..... actually i beg to differ, you can remove mods mid game and still keep playing quite happily if you use the right tools to clean up your save game file.

 

This will removed orphaned scripts etc from saves and works very well.... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363 its let me remove mods and keep playing with no problems, and i run 130+ mods.

I'm not seeing a bashed or merged patch anywhere. You can NOT use that many mods with out a patch file.

 

What tools are you using for your game? LOOT, WRYE BASH, Xedit, NMM, MO?

I'm using MO for installing and managing my mod profiles, and loot to adjust the load order. I have to admit, I never used Wrye Bash before because i'm scared to make a mess out of my modlist. Can you recommend some videos or guides that could help me ?
