hundinman
Well, perhaps we should ask ourselves before we make such a poll, what being a member of a religion/belief really means. Does it mean that this person really beliefs or does this mean that this person was raised in this belief and participated, because it is the tradition? I personally think that being a member of a religion/belief means that you acctually belief in this religion. So therefore someone who was raised in a christian way but only goes to church because it is the tradition and not because this person really believes, then this person is not a member of this religion/belief (same applys for every other religion/belief). And there are also some other things about this poll I don't like. First: Atheism isn't a religion, it is a belief. In fact it is the opposite of a religion. So the question should rather be: "In what do you believe?" Then secondly some religions/beliefs which are important are missing. Catholics, for example, are considered a part of Christianity. It would be more correct to talk about Catholic Christians, Protestantic Christians, Orthodoxian Christians, Christians of Free Churches. There are a lot more of things which are missing, but I don't have the time to state them all here. Oh, by the way, I'm a Charismatic Christian of the Vineyard Movement (if anyone knows this). Allright Darnoc, if you want a poll with "in what do you believe" make it yourself.

Malchik
Pantheist or atheist - I'm not sure that there is much difference in anyone else's eyes. In other words I don't think there is a god but if I'm ,whoever was involved in setting up this Little Shop of Horrors was not attached to any particular religion. Religions are all very definitely man made.
ShinJiOh
Catholic... though not because i argue that there is a god and he is what people say he is, but because i do believe that there is a higher plane of existence, whether mortal or immortal
Darnoc
@Malchik: There's a huge difference between Pantheism and Atheism. You are a atheist, when you do not believe in the existence of god or any higher being. You are a pantheist, when you believe that god (or whatever name you give to a higher being) is existing everywhere (everything is god). Some native american tribes had similar beliefs, also there are some groups in Christianity which believe this. A good example for this in literature is also "Stranger in a strange world" by Heinlein.
Malchik
Oh I know there is a difference, but I explained what I meant. It just seems to me that there is a very a narrow viewpoint among the majority of those who post on religious issues in these forums. (I.e if you don't believe in 'my' god you are an infidel!) As such to them it wouldn't matter whether I claimed to be atheist or pantheist. I apologise if this was not clear.
Switch
Well, raised as a Christian, but not really sure about it all ATM. The whole Jesus thing seems a bit... well... crazy :P but I dunno really. I don't really have the time/interest to look into the roots of Christianity at the moment and decide whether I can really believe it all or not. I still believe there has to be some sort of God out there, and still pray to him (hey if I think there's a chance some cosmic being out there is listening, why not? :P) So... consider me a half Christian "miscellaneous" for the moment :P
Breton Thief Oriana
I consider religion a gateway to the soul, because it seems to invent the soul and say wether we keep it or not. I also can say that i have no true religion, but that is my choice and does not dictate who I am as a person, whereas some religions are trying to do just the inverse, and make you a catagory. "You, being Catholic, are as such to behave as a Catholic." (not to pick on Catholics, so dont take it personally!) Not that I dont think there is a certain moral and ethical code to how people should act, I just feel that through religion isnt the greatest way, just as through politics isnt the greatest way. It should be through yourself.
