Black screen of infinity lock ups.

Trying to get a new machine set up on this game.

Lots of issues as I have lots of mods to install but thats part of the fun right? My problem here ATM is WHEN the game crashes it totally locks up everything, black screen, no alt tab, no ctrl alt delete, no just waiting for it, no choice but pull the plug.

In my searching for solutions I've tried limiting FPS to 60, V-sync, setting hertz to 60, ini this and ini that, but all I've fixed is a possessed flying clutter in interiors problem I had. My thinking is I have NVIDIA to thank for this but I'm not sure what to do about it. If anyone has a suggestion its much appreciated.

I have a G-sync monitor and system info....

Well, Windows 10 (and 8) limits the amount of RAM for DX9 games (Gee, thanks Microsoft) -so that might be contributing to your hard lock-up. If so, no modding or settings in Skyrim will likely help you.

Do you have Skyrim Special Edition? The memory limitation doesn't apply to it since it's a 64bit, DX 11+ game. If you have it, see if you get the same issue on it. If you don't have SE, you might want to consider buying it. A lot of people here report that it's rock-solid on stability and a large amount of the most popular mods have already been ported for it.

Don't know if that's the problem but it is a problem for sure. Windows 10 has been nothing but a nightmare getting anything to work on this machine. Starting with some ultra stupid 'your logged in as administrator, but not really ha ha' and 'oh yeah but we do have a super secret super hidden ultimate power ranger administrator you can log into that will let you do everything the other wouldn't with the exception of the MOST BASIC WINDOWS APPS like calculator and crap', and I still cant get my network working right, and I can download anything but I don't have permission to run it? WHAT!?!?

*Sign* Anyways, needed that rant. I can't deal with 10 anymore. Let Microsoft keep committing suicide. I'm going back to 7. Wish I could go back to XP but you know....The good old days.

Thanks for the reply and no I don't have the special edition. From what I've seen so far there are many mods I can't play without that are not SE.
