830bet
Hello. I'd like to know if it would be possible to create a mod which somehow lets you open the console... And if someone here is willing to create it or give me instructions on how to do it (I have basic knowledge of the Construction Set, Enchanted Editor, etc.) E.g.: a mod that binds the console to the X key, or a mod which adds a ring you can use to open the console, or a mod which lets you do that in any other way It would be extremely useful for some people (including me) who aren't able to open the console with the default key (that's a problem some notebook users have, for some reason there is no way of getting the º or ` key to open the console in this game) Thanks Edited May 3, 2017 by 830bet
Dragon32
If you use MGE or MGE XE you may be able to do that with its macro function, really not sure though...
830bet
Unfortunately, MGE XE's macro function didn't work for this, I've already tried. Notebooks users who have this problem can uninstall the "Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver" device in Device Manager>Human Interface Devices. Then the console will work, but you need to do that on each restart and it's a bit annoying, that's why a mod which lets you open the console with a ring or something would be great
Dragon32
Ah. Couldn't you disable that device in Device Manager rather than uninstall it? Maybe set-up a hardware profile? I don't think there's a "launch console window" script command
830bet
No, unfortunately you can't disable it, just uninstall (at least on my HP DV7-3162nr). Looks like hardware profiles was a feature of Windows XP, not present anymore on Windows
Dragon32
Ah, shame. It has been a while since I needed to do that kind of thing so it could've been back in the XP days. Time flies.
830bet
Hahaha, it's okay. I just switched from XP to 7 last year
