Cicero

I think I'm almost through the Dark Brotherhood quests... I killed the Emperor (not the decoy) so I must only have a few more left. I chose to kill Cicero. I actually flipped a coin on it. But now I've gotten to the point where I've learned that the Family is almost wiped out and they've taken up residence in the Dawnstar Sanctuary.

My question is, if I had let Cicero live, I believe he becomes a follower that you can recruit from the Dawnstar Sanctuary, so would he live there and interact with Nazim and Babbette if I had not killed him? I'm kinda curious how that would have turned out.

Yes he lives there, I don't know if he interacts with Nazim and Babbette but he dose hang around the night mother a lot and they comment about him being alive still.

i killed cicero,no regrets,and love wearing his hat,increases sneakiness 30%,

yeah did so in my first character but then i read his journals.the guy has been through a lot.he got crazy because every member from his sanctuary died 1 by one and he stayed alone as a keeper of the night mother.about the jester thing...he said his last contract was a jester and his laughing even before death was carved in his mind.and more importantly cicero is the only guy who has faith in the night mother.he was right to question astrid and even more to attempt to kill her.she wanted the power for herself and se was scared to see the return of a listener

but finally if u spare cicero u have a special dialogue with him in which for the first time i laughed with this jester :P

I didn't kill Cicero and for a good reason...him and Babette are the only 2 members of the DB worth living. Personaly I would have kill Astrid myself if i could without renouncing the DB. And besides...if you summon the Spectral Assassin before going after Cicero, he will tell you that Sithis dosen't want him dead yet :D. (If someone in the DB desereves to die it's Astrid)

PS: Don't you all hate that Festus died? -in my opinion he was one of the best NPC's in the game :(-

I loved Festus -- excellent writing and voice-acting for that character. I'm waiting for someone to do a mod that lets you save everyone in the Sanctuary like "Whispered Warnings" did for Oblivion. I'd still like to snuff Astrid, though. Never liked her. Never will like her.

As for Cicero, I was actually surprised in my first playthrough when I met him with his broken wagon, only to find out, later, that he was transporting the Night Mother. It's a shame the developers didn't follow through with that quest, but Cicero never seems to actually get his wagon fixed even when Vantus Loreius promises to do so -- another example of the "unfinished quest syndrome" that plagues ES games. Anyway, I could never bring myself to kill the poor fellow, since I did take the time to read his journals. He's certainly one of the most entertaining NPCs in the game, although I, personally, don't think he comes anywhere close to Sheogorath (sorry allegrafade), who remains my all-time favorite NPC from both Oblivion and Skyrim. It would be interesting, though, to witness a conversation between the two of them.

As a follower, his antics are hilareous for about 10 minutes. After that, you want to see him fly from Bard's Leap. Between and even in battles, he starts to jig and dance and his remarks are, well, Cicero.
